Why do people always vote for their favourite producer when asked this question, or rather, why is it that people asume the best producers are the best dj's.

Some of my favourites

Eric Morello (just one listen and my breath was taken away)
Mark dynamix (becasue he's not affraid to play something different in the hard trance dominated scene, and do it well)
Picotto (becasue while his sets lack any form of by-the-book perfection, they have a feeling of excitement and songs just seem to come out of nowhere)

Jules has got to be the biggest tossa in the world, and most of the sets I've heard from him don't flow and have crap beat matching, but I do give him an enormous amount of respect for one particular set - Qontact 01.

Anyway, I haven't ventured far into the world of live sets, so my knowledge is fairly limited:

Number 1 and 2 tend to switch around depending on my mood. My judgement is based on purely how much i enjoy listening to their music. I had to stick a local in there as well!!

After looking at the list there and considering what international DJs I've seen perform or heard their live sets I put down the five that I liked the best. The fact that they also produce good stuff is just a bonus. If that bothers you then too bad.

Recent Galaxy Mixmasters sets have been good and Airdrawndagger was amazing.

Live at electrolux, Live at Soma, both great

Dj Tiesto
ISOS3 is good, but he has defineatly dropped off this year, last year i would have voted him as number 1 in a second.

in order however atm its not letting me vote i dont think. Oh well
