Ultra After Parties :D

So I'm not going to ultra, but for the Money I could be spending at the Festival will be going into Music Week festivities .

Out of the events listed below which would be more fun to go to or of an experience?

Week one, which ill go to 2- 3 events here:

http://partylifemiami.wantickets.co...-Gervais-STORY/

http://partylifemiami.wantickets.co...ami-at-Mansion/

http://partylifemiami.wantickets.co...uckles-ARKADIA/

http://partylifemiami.wantickets.co.../Kaskade-STORY/

http://partylifemiami.wantickets.co...ve-Angello-LIV/

http://partylifemiami.wantickets.co...-Van-Doorn-LIV/

http://partylifemiami.wantickets.co...ck-Individuals/

http://partylifemiami.wantickets.co...Skrillex-STORY/

I'm considering on going to 2-3 events which is best because DJ's will play 5 hour sets and the cost will be way less than what it will cost to go to Ultra.

Wow, um.... anybody wanna chime in on this??

Judging from your event choices, I'm guessing you're pretty young and/or new to the scene. That entire list makes me wanna shoot myself (being a tad facetious), but I believe in people enjoying themselves however they want. If I HAD to choose from that list I'd probably go with Kaskade because I really liked him back in the day when his sound was much different. Sander Van Doorn has talent, but he's negated most of that by changing his sound as well. He can still lay down some tracks, though. If you like Skrillex, then you should probably check that party out, as it's got some hot artists right now in that scene. Really, it just depends on what you wanna hear.

What I find interesting about your list is that you've compiled some of the least music driven clubs in the nation to possibly visit. Not only that, but you've picked some of the more expensive parties. You may have been better off going to Ultra and experiencing the festival and wide array of music. I do like your assertion that longer sets are much better, so maybe there is hope for you..... just kidding.

Anyway, there are plenty of people on here that would be willing to direct you to some great parties if you expand on what sound you like and what you feel a clubbing experience should be like. Are you a girl or guy? Traveling with a big group? Like bottle service? etc.......

Help us help you, haha.......

/infomercial.

I see where your coming from lol

@DPetey81

I've been going to different events, but I just procrastinated on buying ultra tickets and you have people trying to sell tickets at prices that are really not worth it. which has brought me to just going to after party events. There are events half the price of these that I listed that will be twice the fun, but those are always around and for a special occasion I was wanting to take the advantage and spend $200 on just 2 events where the DJ doesn't have to fight against Ultra changing up the mix. DJ's show their skills in club sets.

I'm a guy, but going in a mix group

These are DJ's I would see in Ultra... I figure 3-5 hour sets at the club.

Go see Eric Prydz at Space. I think you'll love the music he's spinning and the vibe is so thick there. Much better environment than those shows at swank places. Of course if you throw around some serious dough and get a bottle or something and there's hot girls in your group, then it changes things.

I gotta mention, seeing a guy like Prydz on the Terrace for a 5 hour set that lasts until 7 in the morning or so might spoil you. Then you'll be a jaded asshole like the rest of us.

Wink

@ucforange: like a typical Miami fist pumper lmao

Lol this guy posted the same thing on talknightlife. Wtf man, plan your own shit instead of some forum folks doing it.

Posted by Pantone199c on Mar-07-2013 01:32:

Oh and if you think you'll have the energy to do Ultra all day plus the night events you better have some ridiculous drugs. Every year I see guys and girls selling the last day at rock bottom prices because they completely partied themselves out.

Posted by DPetey81 on Mar-07-2013 02:47:

I started thinking about this, too...... None of those parties listed will have anything near a 5 hour set, and probably not 3 either. If you haven't been to ultra I'd recommend trying to score some tix last minute and go, otherwise just go to the parties. That's what most of us on here do. I haven't been to ultra in years and have little to no desire to go because the others events are way better as a whole. I second the notion of Prydz at space being up your alley and I predict it to be the set/party of the week. If the bottles/models places are more your comfort zone than don't let any idiots like us talk you out of it. You will have fun and those places are pretty impressive overall. Definitely try to get out to another place or two though. With a big group, I can think of no better place to chill than Villa 221 on Sunday for Last Resort. Top notch artists and vibe, and something different music wise than you're probably used to. Ya never know.

@Pantone199c: I'm planning it myself just need some advice, but what your saying is what a lot of people do which is smart. I did it last year I got tickets for Sunday for only 60 bucks.

@DPetey81: I'll check out Villa 221. Thanks!

If you want help tell us what you like other than the commercial dj's you listed already. I love to break folks free from paying $100+ for some shitty event that has the worst crowds and extortion priced drinks. I've had the best times with my friends for $30 bucks or less.

@Pantone199c: well I've seen Boris which was good he's coming back. 12th planet will be here too, smog vs basshead, but ill see I can defiantly change it up a bit. I can tell people on forums have learned to hate south beach hahahaha

I live electronic music in general from house to trance and shit even dubstep at times.

@snatonsb: will do

Posted by Pantone199c on Mar-07-2013 16:48:

What are your plans so far? Like a schedule, I know you are doing Ultra but that's about it.

Posted by buguela89 on Mar-07-2013 17:52:

@Pantone199c:

No Ultra lol. Thats why I'm going to after parties instead. Well for now going to skrillex tuesday and I'm gonna see if I see steve Angelo... not sure if i'd go for a third one. I'm also staying around sobe not to mess with the little girls that go to mekka and all those other downtown clubs :/ #jailbait

Posted by DPetey81 on Mar-07-2013 21:23:

Somebody has misinformed you big time about the downtown clubs. They are the place to be, espectially for after hours. I've heard Mekka is young, but as far as I know everything else is 21 and up. No kids at Space, Villa, Ice Palace, etc. I'm actually disappointed that I'll be staying in South Beach this year after years of being downtown.

*Also - Get on a boat!

Posted by buguela89 on Mar-07-2013 21:54:

I've just had some bad experiences in the past and considering the week and all these young ones knowing that sobe is off limits there gonna flock to downtown.. its happened. I hope it's different this year. It sucks to not wanna do much because every girl got a fake id lol no one properly scans too

Based on this response and the one in the Gareth boat thread, I'm gonna respectfully remove myself from the "trying to help you" discussion. Have a good time in Miami.

It really depends on what your music preference is. Since most us here are tranceaddicts we tend to be bias towards trance events. There are two huge trance shows on Sat. Even though we got tickets to the Pure Trance Showcase featuring Solarstone I think we are going to Club Space instead. As much as I would love to see Solarstone and John 00 Fleming I don't think I could pass up on the opportunity to see John O Callaghan, Bryan Kearney, Alex MORPH, and Menno De Jong. I love high energy +140 BPMs uplifting trance so this would be a better show no doubt. I would love to check out the new venue Souz in S. Beach. Looks real nice inside. The crowd I'm sure would be better at this venue vs Space with all the guidos. Space does have an awesome sound system though. They just need some cool laser lights to go with their amazing sound and cryogenic air blasts.
