Is traffic bad driving back and forth from Fort Lauderdale to south beach?

I got a cheapo motel in fort lauderdale (red carpet inn) for $94 a night. I'm worried traffic will be bad driving to south beach. I heard its not so bad on the weekend tho.

Anyone have experience they can share? Google says its 33min travel time.

it's a solid 30 minutes without traffic from FLL to the heart of south beach.

i would tack on at least half an hour just to get around SoBe because of the inflated amount of people/cars this weekend due to the conference.

find parking closer to midbeach and bus it down.
