Trance - beyond music
After spending the night drinking at vinnies (fun, but not good music) and going to tonic and listening to hip hop bullshit I have decided to look at what music is and what trance is.
Music - can be used to describe a number of genres of sound, eg. hip hop, rap, house, alternative, rock, country, etc. each producing a sound that is liked by the unenlighted people.
Music (in the sense of trance) - is a sound that can not be categorized with the above mentioned genres, because none of them cause feelings in your mind, body and soul that make you fly high or make you feel every little bit of emotion inside of you. It is above the word music, it is a way of life, it is every breath you take, it is every move you make (so fucking cheesy), it is the soundtrack to your life and thank you for understanding.
A drunk but content human.....
I apologize for my ranting, but its said that I cant find good music to dance to on some random thursday night, I would have taking funky house with no problems, but the hip hop just hurt tonight.
Han, I feel your pain. I having spent the night at York, ehhhhh what can you expect but nonstop hip hop allllllllllllllllllllllllll fucking night?? Ummmm I requested anything recent the "dj" said he has some really really commercial house, damn was he right. He did drop some garbage commerical shit, I didnt' even stick around long enough to hear some commercial stuff I would like. BLAH. Too bad a friend of mine didn't dj instead, I would have heard some hip hop but at least it would have been mixed in with some DECENT shit. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Down with mediocrity. (I don't know if that's spelt properly but I don't give a shit)
We neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed a trance night at York, hopefully it'll happen.
The coolest thing about tonight I met up with a friend I saw by pure fluke, was cool. About the music thing, I know of NO OTHER type of music that makes me feel the way trance does, NONE!!!! I was just talking about this to a friend I met today, it was cool and funny at once. Enough of my ramblings, I'm out. NITE!

trance = win

hi
Hans....I have to aggre with you with everything except one part
that all other styles of music is for unenlightened people??
the only reason Im gonna bash you is cause you are my friend and you know where I live so you can come kick my ass...and cause you know I like to stir up shit...
so here it goes
Hans...what style of music did you grow up on?? 80's rock perhaps??
well in my case that is what I listened to and to this day although I no longer listen to it I still like it and very much respect it whenever it comes on...
The artists back then actually had a brain and wrote their own lyrics and at the same time wrote something that was meaningfull not like today
Trance is a way of life but we should not forget where our roots originated from whether its from clasical, 80's rock, pop
whatever...
I know for a fact that I started to enjoy electronic music because of liking heavy metal....go figure I can't see the corelation between that but if I listened to hip pop, rap I very much dout I would end up lovin trance

Sorry I am just a stuck up trance jerk...I was under the influence, its a valid excuse right?
ROFL! Such is life!
trance is an art form
it comes from the soul
no other sound sound's like it
it is heaven and earth all in one
and anyone saying otherwise has not listened to it
trance makes everyone that listen's to it really happy {or is that all the e we've taking}
trance for ever
party on doud's

Thank you people for supporting my angst and rage, even though it seems a little harsh.
TranceKitten - your right, reality is trance because every emotion and motion seems to have some place in some trance track.

Trance is just a kind of music that we love. To other people, it is all the other stuff out there. You can't say that trance cannot be in the same category as other music genres just because it is your preferred kind. To some people classical causes feelings in their mind, body and soul and makes them fly high or feel every little bit of emotion inside. To others it could be house, rap, rock... World existed before trance. Enough with this sensualist crap.
I hate when people say that they can't function without trance. Did you live before you started listening to it?
Try living in Hamilton! It has to be worse. We're talking mullets...and Billy Bob's Party bar
I agree about the heavy metal bit that someone mentioned earlier. There's some correlation between the melodic elements of 80's metal and the melodic elements of trance. I'm talking the old Iron Maiden, Ozzy and shit like that...I don't listen to it much now, but I still respect it.
Peace,
Andrew
