Popsicle 2013

So i didnt see an event thread....with so many markus schulz fans i figured there would be a lot of interest. Guess y'all are as much as a ms fan as unicorns are real.

the oracle arena is the biggest joke venue ever

also every skills event i (or my friends) have been to in the past couple years have been trash. i wont be going to another, probably ever

Posted by DaveT on Apr-04-2013 19:15:

If BART ran 24/7 it would be the greatest venue ever lol

Posted by jonmitz on Apr-04-2013 19:56:

no it's a shitty venue independent of the transportation issues

it shouldn't be used for music festivals. and neither should the parking lot lol

I disagree with you.. The venue is pretty great. Why do you think it should not be used for music event?

I understand that for the NYE party, the venue limit the number of people that could be on the floor, which sucked for most people who had bought a general admission ticket and got there too late..

But to say that it sucks?? Come on the oracle arena is one of the best venues we have in the bay area comparing it to the cow palace and bill graham.

short festival sets don't really show the true markus schulz, heck, even 2 hr sets are too short.

markus @ avalon threads have many many pages.

Hmm so ms bay area fans only support lenghty avalon sets? Hmm maybe i will only support my favorite sports team on odd date wednesdays that land on a leap year that have a high temperature above 72 degrees

I had a blast at POPNYE. Other than them closing off the floor absurdly early, I thought the Oracle arena was awesome.

its true that i'd rather hear markus spin at a club for 4.5 hours like at ruby over him spinning at any festival for 2 hours. but that never stopped me from enjoying any of his sets no matter where or how long it was.

They're exceptionally stingy with their booze but otherwise it's fine.

Posted by jonmitz on Apr-05-2013 00:18:

the truth is there arent any GOOD large venues in SF and comparing anything to the cow palace or bill graham isnt saying much unfortunately because they are both also shit.

i go to enough events that i dont mind missing the larger SF ones like this on account of the venue.

ya'll have fun though!! (for real)

I ain't going. But I do think that the Oracle arena is a great venue.

I was just wondering why you thought it was so bad.

one good + about oracle arena is that there is always an attendant cleaning the bathrooms, at least over near the lounge/bar area. AND they never run out of toilet paper. lol.

the open bar, and free entry are two good things about this place.

where's this list? Now, this list I would sign up for.. free schulz & gareth

Posted by element-y on Apr-05-2013 01:43:

free entry sounds good. But yea not going. Lineup doesnt do it for me

Posted by Ronald Ravin' on Apr-05-2013 03:00:

The price is wrong, Markus can't save the rest of that lineup alone

were going to need it to get thru Angelo. riding a bike with training wheels is easy, but what about the first time you try without? Steve won't have anyone to save him. he better be worried! pre mixed cd on hand just in case.

Haha. He could always blame it on a SD card and just loop the same song over and over. Guess its a swede thing . I wonder who's better Angelo or Oakenfold?

We know we're old when we still call the event 'Popsicle'

I remember when popsicle was at Pier 48 with Oceanlab. The best Popsicle they ever had. Sad to say that those days are over...
