His claim to fame is making critiques on mainstream hollywood trash films.

He gave Avatar 4 fucking stars, for Christ's sake.

What a fucked up worldview you have.

How so? You think Roger Ebert has any relevance to some Afghani villager who's trying to figure out how to subsist on a day to day basis? And I'm sure since he heard the news, that the grossly underpaid factory worker in China is crying into the iphone he's currently assembling.

But hey, keep on waving that oh-so-important, pop culture flag - one of its most vaunted soldiers has left us and the world as we know it shall never be the same. OH SO IMPORTANT TO US ALL.

OK, calm down, Sean Penn. No need to get all bleeding heart liberal on us.

All I'm saying is he promoted shit movies to an audience full of plebs.

Roger Ebert should've laid off the fatty foods.

Tomayto-tomahto. My tomato just has more angry in it.

He's no Mr T. When Mr T dies, I'm going to war a black arm band.

Nothing else.

I was never a fan, but I can respect his accomplishments.

RIP

What did he accomplish other than the World Record for most bacon eaten while watching Kevin Bacon?

He's got a Pulitzer.

That's gotta count for something, no?

Posted by Dykes_on_Jay on Apr-05-2013 13:59:

I've got one too. I use it to make Margaritas.

Posted by Dykes_on_Jay on Apr-05-2013 14:02:

At least Qbert had more than one life.

You can tell what a man writes by what a man drinks.

I agree completely. Just stupid fucking Westerners getting upset because another pith-helmeted cultural imperialist has died, instead of actually focusing on the issues that actually matter. We still need to slow down the nuclear arms race, stop terrorism, and world hunger. We have to provide food and shelter for the homeless, and oppose racial discrimination and promote civil rights, while also promoting equal rights for women. We have to encourage a return to traditional moral values. Most importantly, we have to promote general social concern and less materialism in young people. It's like people today are just blind to these actually important problems.

Keep on fighting the good faith, brother.

Did you just quote American Psycho?

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Apr-05-2013 16:37:

I always thought Ebert was a terrible critic. How on Earth someone with such an ugly and simplistic technique won the Pulitzer prize is an absolute mystery to me.
