What instrument(s) can you play?
I know a lot of you have an (undying) love for music. Can any of you play an instrument? If so, what instrument(s) can you play? Also, did you have any professional training for it (such as band class in school, private lessons, etc.) or are you self-taught?
I'll start with myself: I have played all kinds of percussion instruments (drums, keyboard instruments, etc.) throughout middle school and high school. I've also marched snare all 4 years of high school (yay, back problems for eternity!) I also self-taught myself the acoustic guitar.
I find that when I listen to music, I really pay attention to the percussive aspects of a track since I have such a heavy background in it.
I'm really interested in what instruments you all play.
the speculum
The skin flute
I play the oboe, which in turn helped me to quit smoking. It also removed the grey hairs from my beard.
Alto/Tenor/Bari sax.
I've been playing electric bass and electric guitar for two years now. Although I mostly focus on death metal, I'd like to build my chops to play some fusion.
I also have a drum kit I mess around with in my free time.
Piano.
Violin, Bass (both double and electric, won a few state competitions and performed with Destiny's Child
), Alto Sax, Guitar, Drums.
sax (tenor/baritone)
piano
Guitar (electric / accoustic)
Bass Guitar
ukulele
Mandolin
Sitar
drums
Formally trained in saxaphone, piano and guitar. Self taught ukulele, mandolin, sitar and drums (the sitar being the most difficult due to the complexity of learning Raagas and Taaths which do not follow western musical theory)

I used to play the trumpet since I was like 7 years old, played total for about 11 years give or take, just don't have time for it anymore cuz I never planned on becoming a professional eg. school and work take most of my time.
I used to play the tenor sax, but sold it a few months ago after years of inactivity. And I can play the piano.
Piano.
So, in case anyone is wondering, this is what you have to do if you want to become a COR mod:
Grew up being taught to play the piano but that's sort of tapered off after elementary school. Now I'd probably be hard pressed to read notes, but given a few days to brush up on it I figure I'd do alright.
Seems I'm the one person who doesn't claim to know how to play the guitar just cause I can play Wonderwall.
My gf is learning guitar now, which I think is super cool of her to take on.
I've always wanted to learn the drums or piano. I've played piano while making hip hop instrumentals and such, but that's not playing. More like punching keys.
So yea... I really want to learn the piano. I will, eventually.
And who knows, maybe the gf will give me private guitar lessons one day, too.
Self taught:
Guitar (some classes)
Ukulele
Drums
Piano
Learned in school:
Violin
Trumpet
Baritone
I really don't play much anymore, sold my drum set and guitar. Still jam out on my acoustic/electric ukulele, and only dick around with the keyboard when making music.
I'd love to learn the saxophone!
Learned piano through lessons. Up until I got my Grade 10. Quit playing when I was 19... stupidest mistake in my life.
I sometimes play here and there when I find one, but I really regret ending the lessons. I guess you can say DJing took the place of it, but I really want to get back into it.

I've got a couple of guitars in different tunings, and I am thinking about getting an 8 string later this year.
Should be fun.

Drums (battery + excellent snare drummist),
Im trained a little bit (only a year) in piano, but I wish I was better,
Alto horn and french horn that's really from germany.
The Mandolin, Violin. Supremely shitty at Piano and Guitar (started learning but never pursued). I guess my best instrument is my singing voice.
Stu plays a mean rusty trombone.
It's really more of a ruddy saxophone when Stu does it, though.
