Perhaps this thread could have been better labelled "Does video hits piss you off - period" That show just has far too much American wanna be tryhard Negro in the hood gangsta urban rap crap for my liking.

Posted by Chuck Norris on Sep-21-2002 10:29:

Fuck, i was watching it this morning. Wtf is with the fucking past hits like Pseudo Echo - Funky Town, i mean, i wake up hearing this shit!

that's what I do!
I can't stand the shite that is played on Video Hits. And I especially dislike the "interactive top ten". The fact people vote for such cheesy crap sickens me. Die, Video Hits, die!

Posted by Tranceilvania on Sep-21-2002 13:04:

Surely VH pisses all of us TA's and many other ppl but Ch10 is a commercial channel and they do a bit market research before they make a programme, prolly most Aussies like that kind of music so Ch 10 shows that crap on TV.

But still I can't believe the music they play can appeal that many ppl. It's so shit not many ppl would willingly listen to that! Here's my theory: Music companies are involved with Commercial Broadcasting channels and pursuing them to brainwash viewers so they would buy that CRAP music they have listened on TV or Radio. That way Record Companies can sell Music that would be normally rot on shelves!!!
The good music sells anyway.... Simple as it is

Angry

Video Hits and Video Hits uncut, early saturday morning/late friday, is shit. I agree with Ves saying it should die.

I mean, at least show some tits and ass in the uncut version

Yes, i agree. I've watched it a couple of times and i see nothing uncut about it.

Posted by webmeister on Sep-22-2002 00:37:

VH uncut = swearwords without bleeps

NAUGHTY!!!11!1

They're still not brave enough to play a Prodigy video clip or something

I wonder if the people watching video hits would even know who the Prodigy are?

Posted by webmeister on Sep-22-2002 01:03:

probably not .. scary to think that VH's target market would probably think of Prodigy in the same way that I think of Cyndi Lauper (or any other crap 80s music) -- CRAP

Posted by Paulie on Sep-22-2002 02:13:

Yeh sure they play some crap on video Hits and even rage with fooken grunge rock skater crap, but what else is there to watch on a Saturday morning. It's become a ritual of mine before I play soccer on a Saturday I watch video hits, crap it is but unless u got foxtel there is nothing on a SAT. morning

TRANCE ON MY FRIENDS

Posted by dj_nomiz on Sep-22-2002 03:29:

did u guyz see the adds right after video hits? this particular one pissed me off majorly... some new cd called: trancecentral is out and itz filled with 'euro dance' like lasgo, someone called lago or some crap, ian van dahl<--- i think he's alrite, and alot of other 'trance' artists... dont tell me they are trying to commercialize trance!! NO!!!!!!!, plus that cd will be giving trance a bad image... i hope none of the teeny boppers out there will embrace this cd, please dont,

btw, the caption said something like: 'the coolest trance cd'

I saw that ad! Geez, even the cover of the CD looks teenyish and cheesy! I think the majority of the tracks are stuff like Lasgo and DJ Sammy, but I think there are a few good tunes on it like System F- Exhale. I predict that this "Trance Central" CD will go straight to the top of the compilation charts, and will sit right next to the WILD CDs, which, without a doubt, is where it belongs. I can definitely see some of the fickle, impressionable 14 year old girls at school buying this compilation.
...*sigh*

By the way, has anyone seen those ads for Dee Dee- Forever and some blatant money making remix of that old Time After Time song from Strictly Ballroom? I think they are advertised along with some Janet Jackson song...anyway, these songs look incredibly cheesy! So cheesy it's somewhat amusing... It's definitely Interactive Top Ten quality.

Posted by escee on Sep-22-2002 06:49:

i think my turds are interactive top ten quality.

Posted by DJ Dowlz on Sep-22-2002 06:54:

The worst part is that the general public think that Darude, Fragma, Ian van Dahl, Lasgo et al are what defines the genre. Mention Ferry Corsten for example and they will invariably go who the f*ck is he?

Mind you they might know Barber's Adagio for Strings cause that has been used on quite a number of commercials.

Or punk Dj Dowls, the amount of times ive heard "Hey that track in the latest ministry of sound compilation!" when trance nation was released a few months back was annoying.

What makes it more annoying is they only knew it was in there because of the advert and the basic synths.

Whatever happened to Ministry? Ever since they got rid of the big names, they've just been producing commercial cheese. Have you noticed that? I think the Annual 2002 (2001) was the first one to be released without the DJs name on it. Why don't they have them? Are they too scared to tell us how crappy the DJ is? Bring back decent DJs!!!

And yes, that point about Punk is quite true. Although I think the first time I heard it was when he spun it live in Adelaide (26th Augusty 2001).
