Stanton Needles?...

I bought a pair of Vestax PDX-2000 about a month ago, and as some of you may know... "They do not come with the needles!". So knowing that "stanton's" are recommended I went for a pair of them!

When I bought them I had a choice of the following two Stanton needles: 500AL (�50 per pair) or 505SK2 (�80 per pair).
I opted for the first (500AL) as they were the cheapest [I didnt have much money after buying the decks and the mixer]...

My question is this...
Should I have splashed out the extra �30 and got the 505SK2's?
I know they look better but are they much better performers?

Finally... Are there any other needles that are worth looking out for (any manufacturer)?
