spraypainting turntables
if i get a used pair of 1200s that are stained and have writing on them, can i take the top of the actual turntable, and spraypaint it?
i dont see why not
however they do sell covers for technics tables that come in an assortmant of colors
i know they do, but for 50 dollars each, i'd rather spraypaint them (if possible).
depending ont what color u get
i just checked my prosound mag and for yellow, blue, and red its $29.99
for black its $39.99
for chrome its $59.99
and for brass its $79.99
why would u want a brass finish though?
take the cover off before you paint it. otherwise you will get paint all over the motor..and well I dont know how good spray paint would be for a motor.
and dont spraypaint it..use an actual brush, will look much better
i know, but thats the question... can i take the cover off?
just one thing before u do that
you'll probably forfeit ur warranty when u do take it off
im buying them used anyways =D but anyone please tell me if its even possible to take the top "cover" of the turntable off.
if they sell replacable covers then im pretty sure it must come off
i would suggest putting a couple clear coats on once you paint it though because it'll feel sticky otherwise and could even potentially turn into mush if they get really hot from using them for a long time or something
plus it'll look better
oh btw
don't spraypaint them
get them airbrushed...it'll look so much better and cleaner
how much will it cost?
Definitely use an airbrush. I have one of these babies from when i used to make lots of models. They can make some seriously sick patterns. Great for blending more than one colour together and getting thin streaks. They also give a much cleaner finish than a spray can. You can buy them for around $70us.
I know someone who had pdx-2000s and he actually made his only covers out of metal. They look seriously mean. All molded and shit with a full trippy pitch adjust and all.
could u arrange some photo`s of that??
i`d like 2 see how its done
Are you talking to me? The photos are on a VB Board, but the board has been down for a couple of weeks. That's the only way i can get a digital copy of them
