Wanna See Nyc Through My Eyes!

Hey whats up everyone. I already belong to Trance addict but, I had to switch user names because I was getting all this crap e-mails from porn site and it was saying tranceaddict on the mail, it was driving me crazy. It sucks I had to wait 3 days before I could post again. Anyway I'm working on my first indpendent internet film at the moment "Wonder Boy" which is do out sometime in November. I'm also shooting short films when I get the chance and I just finished one, broken down into 2 parts.

IMO this isn't spam. Firstly, he isn't trying to sell us anything, and secondly, if you have a look around the chillout room, there are tonnes of crap threads floating around. At least this one might be interesting...

I don't care if it's "spam" or not, it's more interesting than flame threads or puerile threads abou pubic hair. Most of the chill out room isn't worth the bother anyway.

Anyway, I just watched them. I wasn't particularly impressed by either, but the picture quality and stuttering probably didn't do it justice. I thought the pride one would be about the grand buildings in NYC and the cosmopolitan atmosphere of it all, as well as masses of tourists, and that sin filled New York would be scenes of the Bronx and so on. To be honest only a few things made sense to me, such as the porn adverts etc in the city being "sinful". The first vid, I saw little to be proud of. The second vid, I saw little to be ashamed of. It seemed to be a criticism of the simple pleasures of capitalism, which New York epitomises, rather than NY itself. I'm guessing that's what the zooming into lasses arse's was about? Or were you just being a dirty perv?

Could you give us a run through of what it's all aboot?

Spam is alittle harsh. Traceaddict what are they promoting? Music, Ideas, culture, do they own the music, idea's or culture no. We are all here to share the art, and to further promote the art and make sure it continues to expand. It's our jobs to support the future, trance pushes the boundries and looks down apon those who don't up hold values of individual artist expression.

One question for you... it's plain to see that yeah I'm promoting my work, which is independent mind you, I'm putting myself out there for the world to see, sharing it for free, I'm encouraging others to do the same in hopes of creating a world of artist with self expression. Now to the question why are you gonna waste your time by replying that I'm spaming, it's not doing you or me any good. It's showing that you don't up hold nor support the values set forth by the idea's of trance or the that fact any art form. So why do it, All I was asking for was some support, but, maybe thats how you were treated by others in the past. We can all be friends here and help eachother, support eachother, spread the word world wide about eachothers work.

Reason I'm pissed off is the other day we had a guy come onto this board and he posted the same topic about 30 odd times (in one forum he posted the same topic 6 times) asking people to visit his site.

Post your site up if you want but the thread will be closed and links will be removed i guess.

I understand your point of view. I use to get pissed also but, If the person isn't selling anything then I don't get mad I just make the judgement if thats a site I will bookmark or not. If they are selling porn or some stupid merchandise then I get pissed because then your trying to make money and misusing the forums. I'm trying to promote my art, and since I'm looking for people who make original music to maybe lend a hand I use forums such as this one. I know for a fact that when I was producing tracks I was looking for any outlet and if someone offered me a chance to produce a track for an independent film in exchange for promotion I would have been all about it.

ok the pic quailty is because it's streaming and I can't put up mpeg2's it would take to long to DL. Second the glitch is on your end, you might have low memory which I know cause glitches.

As for the meaning behind it all.
Part 1 (The Pride of NYC) Where is New castle? England I'm guessing, anyway you missed the point on the film and thats ok. Symbolism is something thats internationally known and used. Lets see, crowded streets, tall buildings, fireman, American Flags, Icons like Penn Station.... is that not enough symbolism for you to represent the pride of NYC? Ok the choice of music does't that not represent whats going on in the film?

Part 2 (Sin Filled NYC) Ok the idea behind it was that I'm in the same place, same area of Manhatten yet you see two worlds pride of America, and sex, sin(I understand it's not as raw as I wish I could have done but, it wasn't what I was going for). The idea behind using some of the same footage is to connect the two films, and then the use of music again has a carry over effect it tells the story also. To a new yorker Manhatten is known as the city, not the bronx. Sorry to all the bronx peeps out there but, it's been said before.

But, I respect your opinion and thats what I want is feedback. good or bad, in my eyes feedback is always good.

November is "Wonder Boy" which is a real independent film that I'm working on. It's a comedy it won't be deep in anyway trust me. We just want to make everyone laugh.

Its more than just 9-11.

Its the city itself.

NYC is a city of its own. It really does have its own personality.
Its nice to see the city through the eyes of an everyday citizen, instead of on TV, or in a movie etc. You get the real taste of it.
The people in NYC are definitely different, the lifestyles, etc.

I've always enjoyed NYC. Its definitely a city with life, VERY diverse. Ofcourse, I had my opinions on NYC long before 9-11. I remember visiting the World Trade centers buildings years and years back. When I was a kid, I remember walking the streets, and looking up, and just literally watching the sky scrapers curl over you.

Even with the rap in the first vid, and the the bizkit in the second vid, it still fits in well. And the video quality and stability isnt really an issue. Its a video, its real. No touchups, no clean ups, what you see, is what you get.

Good vid man. I liked it. I do want to visit NYC again sometime.

I live in the Amsterdam region but do most of the serious partying in Germany (Berlin for example)

Thanks Sport trance I like to keep documentary/short films edgy all freehand, no tripods, no actors, no set up shots just pure footage. The reason for using those two songs was for the message the songs had in them. The songs went along with what I was trying to show people in my film.

My independent film "Wonder Boy" will be much different it's a real independent film with actors, a script, and a real movie score that has never been heard before all unreleased artist. We start filming in mid October in about 3 weeks. while it's in editing we will be throwing up out takes and stuff from the filming to start drawing people in. So bookmark us and keep checking back.

The movie wasn't shot for the sake of 9-11, what happened on 9-11 has totally changed NYC. The fact that there is a million flags and everyone love the FDNY is just the way it is now thats NYC, I'm totally against 9-11 films, there is no reason for one we all lived it and a movie isn't gonna do anything for me... I refuse to film near ground zero because nobody can ever do it justice.
