What is your most under-rated synth?

For me it's gotta be Dune. I'm using it just as much as sylenth and my virus

reasons subtractor, malstroem and thor. together they can do almost anything. subtractor is awesome for baselines and acid and some lead sounds, malstroem is great for weird efex and thor is great for everything else (pads, leads).

Diva.

j/k

I'd probably say Tone2 Saurus. Seems like it hardly gets mentioned, but I find myself going to it in every project for basses or pads, arps, leads, etc. It seems like such a simple synth, but it covers a lot of ground and sounds good doing it, too. Not too bad on the CPU, either.

Gladiator...it's a memory hog but I find it very useful. So much that I dont even use sylenth 1/2 much anymore.

Madrona Labs' Aalto. There's really nothing else quite like it.

sylenth, sylenth, SYLENTH!

Since when is sylenth underrated?

I know I am going to get a lot of disagreements here but the minimonsta is still a arsenal in my studio.

ASS Tassmann

not so many people use it or even discuss it's functions. But it is incredible what you can do with it. For me there is no limitation to be creative. I use quite often for heavy bases and percussion.

Fm8

Fm doesn't seem to be used as much in trance as Dnb /dubstep etc but it's fascinating

don't forget massive you guise, so underrated

I think fm8 May be underrated in terms of trance at least. I don't think dedicated fm is discussed on here nearly as much as subtractive.

+1 for gladiator

vstation. Korg MS20 and PolySix. About a decade old and still brilliant. And now 64.

Rob Papen Predator. Capable of so much and yet it seems like everyone uses Sylenth or Massive. Even looking for presets on sites other than RPs to hear what other people are making with it is nearly impossible, because so few people make soundsets for it.

Another one: Absynth. Sounds wonderful, can do some pretty neat things, but everyone seems to think you can only use if for non-dance music sounds, like for video game music.

Have you checked out Rob Lee's soundset?
