All Day I Dream this past Sunday...

... WAS SICK!!!

It was held out at some Ranch in Simi Valley (after the Egyptian Theater fell through) and the venue was GREAT! Got to meet a couple of TAers and a whole of crazy people. Highly recommend the next event guys. Especially before it gets all "commercial"

how was the sound being a very open outside party? better than last years opening at the egyptian?

very sad i couldnt make it due to work. hopefully there will be another 1-2 la adid parties over summer though...

Same system just bumped a little louder. If you wanted to hear/feel the music, they you just walked closer... unlike there Egyptian Theater, there was more room to dance, even up close. All the performers would hang out on the side doing there things. The bars accepted credit cards too. It was sick yo!! Walking around barefoot n shit. Lines for the bathroom sucked though

haha i heard some crying last time around that it was getting too commercial, glad to see you think we're not at that point yet i couldn't make it out this weekend, but definitely going to try to make it the next time around.

ya whats with this commercial thing...as in? does it seem like this place will be hosting the la parties from now on? and was it packed + how was the crowd/women

nah... i was just joking around. i don't know if they will hold the event at the same location again. I heard it's pretty pricey to lease/rent the venue. It was a last minute alternative due to the double booking at the Egyptian. I think holding it at this place did scare off a lot of people but the dedicated folks showed up. The low expectations I had were immediately rewarded. IT WAS GREAT!!! Lee got on around 5ish and was still playing till after we left around 8:30 or so.

I don't think it will ever get too commercial. But there are friends of ours that are really interested in going that would't normally attend an event like this.

last years opening party lee played from from 3 - 11pm. but i can def see why having it at that venue made some people weary...out in simi valley at a random ranch, made to be venue over night.

having it at this venue made it feel like burning man. that's a bad comparison... but it felt different. out in the open. rocks, mountains n shit. Weird people doing cart wheels. it was fun!!

I had my tickets and was pumped up to go. Shoot, even convinced some n00b's to buy tickets so we could meet up there. Than before you know, some stuff happened with my mother in law that it kept me busy til 9pm. My phone was blowing up from the n00b's asking me what time was I going to get there. At least they told me they liked it.

Being responsible and priorities suck! But oh well, there's always a next time.
