Now he's sleeping with the fishies.

Really too bad. The Sopranos is arguably the best Drama series ever created and Gandolfini (along with Bracco and Falco) definitely carried that show.

I'd give that title to the wire, but yeah the sopranos was great and he was great in it.

The Wire sucked hard after season 2. The Sopranos stayed great, although the last episode was rather shit.

Eh russel's argument has merit. The last couple seasons of Sopranos started to suck.

I thought the last episode was brilliant though. People are STILL talking about it. Talk about a lasting effect.

Holsten's has the table reserved

Too much gabagool!

Seriously though, one of my favorite TV characters from my favorite show of all time.

I own the entire series and have watched it at least half-a-dozen times.

Rest in Peace, Tony

Super Sad.

Posted by rubez on Jun-20-2013 12:32:

shocking news.

sopranos is easily the best tv show ever. seen it 4 times through... is as gripping as ever - even though you know exactly what happens. testament right there.

it's all the little things that make it so great. the mental misquotes and half-truths - real life shit that resonate. other shows just dont ring true.

doesn't get any more top notch than this. big T was an awesome screen presence. greatest loomer ever.

the performances in this shit over any other tv show ever made, by a factor of 10.

I just saw him last winter at blue mountain in PA taking his kids skiing, happy I got to say hi to him, he was a good guy!

The Sopranos was the first show in a long time I started to actually follow. Saw one episode after avoiding it for years and was kicking myself for not giving it a chance earlier. Not that I minded the marathon sessions to catch up - but still.

May he rest in peace.

This kinda upset me yesterday...I really enjoyed the stuff he'd done, even lately. I disliked Killing Them Softly, for instance, but thought Gandolfini was spectacular in it.

Last night I revisited True Romance, another admittedly unlikeable flick for me (written by Tarantino - go figure), but it had a really special cast that Gandolfini somehow managed to stand out in. His supporting role as a ruthless gangster was brought to the fore by his unsettling facial expressions and on-point delivery of Tarantino's god-awful dialogue.
