The Last of Us

Has anyone played this game yet? I've read a handful of good reviews.

Are you planning to upgrade console this/next year? if so are you leaning towards Sony or Microsoft?

Posted by OrangestO on Jun-23-2013 20:19:

PS3 will do me just fine for now. I'll probably get a PS4 whenever it dies.

I only use it for Netflix, Blu-Ray and the occasional sports game, anyways.

I've seen someone stream it. Really good game

Posted by Syntonic on Jun-23-2013 21:53:

Yeah, I''ll just stick with the PS3 for a while...new systems rarely have good beginnings anymore. Seems like they're mastering the technology now but want to move on. I'll be sticking with Sony though.

I got this last week but waited until the bug was fixed. Haven't played a game in a while and seen great reviews as well. I might start this tonight, when its darker.

Multiplayer is pretty cool in that you really have to play as team.

Ah, this game has already had a review. And is causing quite a shitstorm.

They make fun of Muhammad (Piss be upon him) and now the dune coons are throwing a shitfit. 30,000 dislikes from a bunch of camel jockeys and thousands of comments containing their scribble speak.

My sister just told me (coincidentally) that she loves this game.

She's a gamer, so I'd take her word for it.

I'll get Last of Us when it's cheaper, like $30.

Also gonna stick with my PS3 for another 2-3 years. Still have a few games to beat and a few on my wish list.

Posted by Juan Paulino on Jun-25-2013 03:37:

i beat it 2 days ago. One of the best games i ever played. Going to get both ps4 and xbox one.

I find it that the more people hype up a game the more i dislike it. And with all the hype this game is getting i would probably hate the shit out of it. Will pass on it, also it has zobies in it or something right? In general i find anything with zombies with the exception of the original Night of the living dead and Shaun of the dead sucks ass.

I feel the same way. I can't stand it when people are shocked that I don't watch Walking Dead. Think the zombie thing is played out...love those two movies as well.

Was reluctant to buy it cuz I hate the hype and shit like that, have to say its pretty solid so far and I'm liking the direction.

Anyone here remember Zombies Ate My Neighbors for Genesis/SNES?

Posted by OrangestO on Jun-26-2013 01:43:

Walking Dead is so garbage. I don't get why people love this show. Seriously.

OT: After watching the reviews I've decided to borrow my sister's copy and try my hand at this game. Considering I only play sports games, when I do pick up the sticks on the rare occasion, it would be a testament to how good this game really is if I stick with it.

Posted by WhooCares on Jun-26-2013 05:27:

currently replaying through it in survivor mode..one of the best games to have come out in recent years..BAR-NONE!

Posted by Syntonic on Jun-26-2013 22:02:

This whole time I thought Ellen Page was in the game. Seen an article earlier with her saying her likeliness was used.

Posted by Chimney on Jun-26-2013 22:19:

The biggest Swedish gaming review newspaper gave this a 10/10 and called it "the best game of current generation". It's a lot coming from a couple of people who award this grade once a couple of years.

Geez, I'm on normal and find it pretty challenging so far. I like how tactical you have to be with what little amount of stuff they give you.
I also don't remember being this freak out by a game since the earlier Resident Evils. Going through those ghostown buildings is fucking creepy especially with sound this game has.

no shit. That second season 8 episode we don't have any fucking ideas so we will just shoot in a forest with no zombies cause we are waiting for next season to be greenlit and we have no money ...

that just killed it. Also, zombies need to run. ZOmbies only work if they are the result of some pathogen that causes rage. Like 28 days later. That is the only form of zombie that works .

Damn.I thought with all the merchandising the show is getting plus having video games too was a cash cow by now.

how is it without the listening/radar mode? can't imagine how tough it be to get by the clickers w/o radar

multiplayer is actually fun and enjoyable.

but to re-iterate the other sentiments in the thread, this game is a pure masterpiece. If you liked any of the Uncharted games, you will love this game. Also if you have ever read the book "The Road" or watched the movie, you will find this game follows along with the book.

if you are a gamer you must play this game!

Posted by Alex on Jun-29-2013 21:22:

Ordered a copy yesterday. Can't wait to play it!

Ah, what a brilliant game that was.

My housemate is obsessed with this game and keeps sitting me down with a spliff and trying to show me the entire game. It looks very good, but ultimately it's just another linear cinematic action game, and the hype is somewhat disproportionate. I saw a review declaring it "the Citizen Kane of gaming", and while it may be an unfair stick with which to beat the game, that kind of statement says a lot about the artistic impoverishment of videogames as a medium.

What a housemate, I'd take that opportunity. I haven't played the game in forever but have great memories about it. The music was cool, graphics were crisp at the time and it was developed by LucasArts which just about has a perfect track record. I also don't remember many games back then having a co-op feature which really made the game for me.

Read the wiki for it and never heard of this game having to be censored in America and Europe. The Last Of Us' gory nature makes this game cute.

Can you still find that Citizen Kane referenced review?

I was talking about The Last Of Us with regards to my housemate. I'd gladly get blazed and replay Zombies Ate My Neighbors.
