Dancing Dude uneducated

hey guys, im uneducated about trance, but still love it. I just need some songs or sets to play in my car that my friends wont want to turn off. I play trance in my car, but it must be the wrong trance because my friends turn it off and play the radio. So I am driving down the road listening to total bullshit like Ludacris and Usher.....I can't stand it. The only song that most of the teenagers around here like is DJ Sammy - heaven, but that song is total bullshit......what do I play?!?!?!?!

maybe you should lay down the law and say
"beyaaaatch, don't u ever touch my radio again!"

or you can make a mixed cd or something
i say you put on
Paul van Dyk - Politics Of Dancing
that was something i listened to a lot when i first started
hell...i still listen to it now!

as for a mixed cd
you can add
lolo - melody
lolo - sunset
...basically anything l-vee produced!!!

It sounds like you're listening to the right trance. Most of the people I know cant stand it when i'm listening to some of my favourite tracks. It shouldnt matter what the people in the car think, since it's your car and you should play whatever you like. If your friends would rather listen to Usher, I doubt there's any chance they'll like any trance tracks you can play before you start hitting the really cheesy stuff, the style of music is just too different.

not exactly true
cuz i used to listen to usher...well rnb as a whole
and i still do
but i guess you can't really force them to like it
if they do, it's cool
if not, hey what can you do...

you havent tried Oakeys Tranceport? i thot everyone in the US had heard that at some point. Being that you are from the US i would also suggest you try some Micro (tech-mix v2.0, 2000. etc). thats what hooked my friends and they still think he's better than max graham or sander klienenberg...could be dangerous|

Listen to what you like. Your car, your radio. If they dont like it. Make them walk.

Dancing Dude

get a cd which starts with cheesey stuff, then make it turn into more uplifting sounds, nothing 2 'FULL' more sharp and quick sounds, because if its more full u need a 'Trance ear' or most people find it crap!!

Guess what...I love trance and I think it's great, but for some reason no matter what kind it is (well, I guess they wouldn't mind ultra chillout trance), my friends so far at college don't tend to want to listen to it in the background. I thought some people just tone out to what's playing but it turns out they have to have something more rock-related to listen to. Like, any electronic music that has basically rock music characteristics (rock music being stuff with specific rules about number of verses, chorus, bridge, solos, lyrical prose, etc...) I suggest Tranceport 1 (which has already been suggested of course, it's really great though), Trance Nation America 2 mixed by George Acosta and ATB (it's a great tune anthem CD and most people who can't stand to listen to trance can stand this CD a bit more, but without you having to sacrifice quality for them because it's still a great CD I think...) and also Johan Gielen live at club EAU...this one also has some great classic/anthem type tunes with memorable melodies that everyone will like...and my favorite album of all time, which I first heard from napster years ago, despite the fact that I've heard countless others since then...
Gatecrasher - Wet (CD2 - Aqua)...oh my, this CD is so incredibly good...or CD1 which is more mellow than CD2... what a killer album...most of the gatecrasher ones are wonderful in general...
Cheerz

A little tracklist you can burn and they will surely love it
begin with a nice but little cheesy tune and proggressivly turn to hard beat

john vesta - gull (everybody should love that one)
communication 2 - armin
sparkles - tiesto ( airscape mix)
the moon loves the sun - nu-nrg
never look back - dumonde
punk - ferry

and im shure you can figure out the others

Posted by jinxed84 on Sep-30-2002 19:14:

i guess maybe you could try the Wet CD's like Kirby said. decent older stuff that isnt cheese like DJ sammy but has sorta the same lighter feel..ahh i hate to comprare the two. id say go with the second cd first to keep thier attention then if they like it play the first one. or you could always play some DJ Dawn and give them a kick in the pants . overall if they complain too much tell them to shut the f*ck up its your car, your gas, if they dont like it they cant find a ride elsewhere. listen to what makes you happy not them
