Review in Progress - Electric Island Canada Days Edition
Why i do believe Sasha is killing it! Guy was amazing as well!
Gerber > sasha. Overall good experience. Didnt go to first one but nothing really for me to complain about. Sound could have been tad louder during audiofly and gerber's sets. I think i pretty much saw most of TAs which was awesome
On the ferry back right now. Excellent 10/10.
Pk sound ftw.
Ill post a review later.
Solid sound today. Really impressed with PK. Good job boys!
Hope to see your stacks in Toronto more often!
And as per the day and music: Well, there really isn't alot I can say. I'll leave that to the others in this thread. It was a near perfect way to end a very special weekend.
Great friends, great music, great human beings.
*edit: Just saw this on the FB event wall by some dude...
"Yeeeahh!!! Waited an hour for a ferry ride over to an island to hear Audiofly play A FUCKING RECORDING of Art Department's set at Footwork Nightclub from Saturday night!!! What an embarrasment on your part guys!!! AND AUDIOFLY!!! I'd rather shoot myself in the face than play a FUCKING RECORDING of somebody else's masterpiece!
Disgusting.."
lmao wut? srsly?
Fun... Saw people, danced, drank, after partied to a surprisingly fun Art Department set.
Success IMO... only thing I would change, more sun and a bit warmer. And that that the cab driver knew his fuckin ferries instead of driving me 10 blocks in the opposite direction and me believing him.
What a great party! This was my kind of event, outside, during the day, on an island, space for a blanket, and great sound.
There was a hiccup trying to get in, as they said my ticket had already been scanned. I think it was a glitch in their system, because I didn't give out my ticket to anybody else. After 10 minutes, and convincing 4 different people, they let me in.
Gerber's more melodic sound was very welcome, compared to who ever was on before him. Djs, please play more summery tunes, that are meant for a warm day, outside.
Sasha was a steady, but I was hoping for more energy. A few tracks stood out, I was just happy to see him in that setting.
Strange observation: the sound quality got noticeably better when Sasha got on. Maybe there was a problem with Guy's equipment?
I would go to the next party without hesitation. The sound was amazing, no ear plugs needed.

fantastic day!
I haven't had this much fun in a while - the sound was incredible, crisp and clear and loud but still perfect enough not to yell in ppl's ear
I must have seen over 30 people I haven't seen in the longest time, it was def a TA reunion
this brought me back!!!

That party was perfection!! I literally saved all my energy and money this weekend for this event alone. It was my first time seeing Sasha at an outdoor venue, so that was neat! His set was definitely the highlight for me, but I honestly enjoyed all the music played all day/night. I thought the sound was perfect. I would 100% go to another Electric Island party. When is the next one?! lol
It was so nice to get to party again with so many people that I rarely get to see anymore. I miss that crowd sooooooo much! Just genuinely nice, music loving people. I saw barely anyone wearing neon yesterday, NUFF SAID. lol
This party def. gets a 10/10. Incredible from start to finish. What a fantastic Canada Day!!

Everything he said! More summery tracks. But still an amazing party. Sound better for Sasha? This ain't his first rodeo, he knows how to eq.
Also... I' assuming that the next party is Civic holiday weekend Monday, and.... Digweed is here in town the day before, just saying is all.
My review:
Arrived at 330ish, the ticket process was seamless for me and my friends. Audiofly had just come on as we got in. Audiofly play a very steady minimalist sort of tech.. and this was definitely it. It was great for the warmup before Gerber.
Gerber was phenomenal. He did an excellent job of taking the energy level up. Lots of his signature melodic grooves. From about this point on, I was stage left dancing my ass off.
Sasha came on and delivered. Incredible set, signature modern Sasha sound; hard bass riffs with lots of chugga chugga.
The sound was an incredible improvement. I can't really fault it. There were a few moments where it sounded like sasha was pushing the red, but the sound engineers were quick to respond. The sound was crisp and the full frequency range was audible.
One of the best parties ive been to in awhile.
Thanks to platform, embrace and PK sound for addressing the complaints of the last event. Cheers!

This was a great event.
Everything about it was top notch (tunes / sound / vibe / crowd / organization) etc
Can't wait to see what is in store for the civic & labour day long weekends (with e-zoo being that weekend there will be a tonne of possibilities).
I will also add that I had soooooo much more fun at this vs Digital Dreams.
loved the music all day, Gerber was my fav, god damn he's fire
did anyone get footage of that chick who kept sneaking up onstage and dancing... she was awesome haha I love when those 'party moments' happen, people can't contain themselves lol

The best track that I heard from Sasha in the live stream (I have to be honest, I heard about 30 minutes near the end and this was the only decent track).

I told me friends in excitement: "OMG THIS IS JOEL MULL" figuring they would know who he was, but alas, they didn't.

nice track!
sasha played this bomb towards the end..
10/10 party.
wowow! was up here from NYC - luciano cancelled stereo so we decided to stay in toronto and come to this - amazing!
great vibe, no hassles, cool people, cheap drinks, good sound and amazing music.
gerber is the MAN. he dropped this little tune (that luciano happens to play all the time):
and sasha was ace. i think that joel mull track is THE track i've been looking for (i think he played it at stereo last month as well).
that waff - ibiza track is probably the top track of the year so far in terms of play time. everyone is dropping it - sasha, fanciulli, cox, etc. also - does anyone have a link to the video stream from last night?
had an incredible time. i got some great pictures of the downtown toronto skyline as well - will post soon.
toronto is doing it right
