You should provide a reason why you think it needs its own genre.

Posted by Seandroid on Jul-23-2013 05:16:

I don't think you can make a new genre without creating some ridiculous name that combines the adjective with the genre name.

Tepichno.

No, just no.

Hey Ed Davenport, way to rip off G-Man's 'Envelope'!

And, as previously stated, no.

If epic techno is trance when what makes that epic trance?

For the record, when I made this thread I wasn't actually thinking anybody would take it seriously. I was just looking for an excuse to post these tracks. Coupled with a controversial statement and a one liner, mattsanity style.

How is that a ripoff? It seems like it was an inspiration but calling it a ripoff is really far fetched considering soundwise these are nothing alike. They have a similiar structure and he used similar background vocals but that's about it.

I thought that Epic Trance was Uplifting Trance

Posted by Bierheld on Jul-23-2013 13:27:

Very much the wrong time to do so son. Do you really want to tarnish the legacy by giving it the same adjective now most commonly used to describe lowbrow 'splosion fests like the transformer movies?
Technoes is serious business yo, hyperbole is just not allowed.

You've already invented basement techno, Woony. Don't get greedy.

And Intelligent Techno.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Jul-23-2013 18:14:

Intelligent techno is an ancient term. We just use it to describe the early '90s British stuff that's halfway between Detroit techno and IDM.

I thought we all agreed 'epic trance' doesn't exist?

As much as I'd like taking credit for that I can't That term has been used all over by music journalists trying to describe the describe that kind of newschool, industrial-esque techno sound of the past few years.

The Inland project has been absolute gold so far. Every EP is total quality and so refreshing compared to most of the dark techno fare being pumped out.

Love that one also, such an absolute burner on the floor.

I'm really sick of Techno, I want to Rave: Feel empathy; melancholy; euphoric. I wish to communicate with advanced civilizations in outer space; civilizations that enjoy faster electronic music.
