Is anyone going to this? I'm on the fence about it.

If I do go, I'll be sure to take notes on my phone again and write a review

EDIT: Is it me, or did prices drop for this? I could have sworn they were $30+.

We're driving down for this one...

I'll be going to this. The last PvD show at Amp was fun. Great laser show and he even dropped some breaks. He mixed the 'Berlin Mix' of "Nothing But You" into his 'Dub Club Mix' of "Daniel Nitt - Falling." It was epic!!!

Have fun everyone.

Have fun tonight guys!

I really wanted to make it but yesterday was a long night and his recent sets just don't entice me enough to trek all the way to Ybor, pay for parking, the ticket, etc.

I've been busy catching up on Breaking Bad before tomorrow night's debut. Decided to take a break, crack open a beer, and listen to PVD/Judge Jules' Essential Mix from 2001 instead.

Hope he gives you a good show!

Nice, we were listening to that set on the way here tonight! We'll let you know how it is!

I had so much fun last night. The energy and crowd was a lot better compared to Firestone. I saw a lot of old school Vandit t-shirts and people actually signing along all night. Paul played 2 hrs and kept the energy throughout.

Posted by jsweeney51 on Aug-11-2013 18:37:

Wow. It's been a few years since I've seen PVD, and he did not disappoint me last night. Can't speak for everyone else, but I loved the non stop high energy shit he played. I know he's taken a lot of heat the last couple years for going to more of a commercial sound, but I'm hoping he's past that chapter.

The other thing that makes him stand out is his attitude. He's so laid back and you can tell he actually enjoys playing while performing. You can't say that for most anymore. And he was gracious enough to go out of his way after he was done playing to greet his fans and take pictures even the Amp security isn't usually exactly the most accommodating.

i always thought pvd played much better when he looked pissed off and antisocial. instead of jumping around and doing the air piano shit he focused more on what he was actually doing which was mind raping you from start to finish.

glad you guys had a blast though.

Posted by OrangestO on Aug-11-2013 19:43:

Ugh, of course I don't go and he plays great.

I hate this "hit or miss" type of scene nowadays, especially with the vets like PVD.

Glad you guys had fun, though!

Word has it that PVD's show in NYC last night was the best in years.

NYC gets all the good sets. Tough crowd up there, these DJs know they have to bring it. Especially at a big event like that.

Glad he played well at the Amp though. You know, as corny as that venue is, I do agree that there is a lot of energy in that place. Much moreso than Firestone for instance. I've had fun at the Amp when I've gone, still laugh when I think about the power failures they had when Markus played there in 2011.
