Why is Trance so Superior?

Well we all like Trance, but the big question is Why? I would like to see other peopele's inputs as to why you think that Trance is the definitive type of music. The Demon has spoke.

Trance is not the surperior music .. this is a very subjective question. Anyone can say anything is superior, but who is that person to say that? Like many other opinions time and time again on this board, everything is everyone's own opinion..

i think we 'enjoy' trance music often more so than others because there's a level of sophistication in it that requires the listener to 'understand' the music..

1) Sounds great
2) Very emotional. One good track can completely elevate your mood.
3) I like to listen to trance while I walk. Makes me feel like I walk so much faster

I agree with dEsidEL

Its not the music that is superior it is us as intelligent music lovers that can relate and understand the emotion in Trance/Electronic music.

I am just glad that I have found it.....

i'm always into 1 specific type of music for like a month at a time
1st rock for a month
then rap for a month
then whatevers next
then Flec introduced me to trance
at 1st I said it was terrible and I hated it and it was all repepative bullshit, but then it just HIT me one day. I have been listening to trance for like a year now dont plan to change my taste in music any time soon

I like trance because I love how it makes me feel. Some tracks make me want to cry, some make me feel so happy and some tracks make me want to dance my ass off. Either way, I feel unbelievable.

I agree and disagree with dEsidEL.

True, trance cannot be the "superior" form of music - but not because of "who are you to say trance is the best" (a petty reason, at best) but because music cannot be reviewed objectively. It just can't, it's not possible. Your emotions and preferences will always get involved.

That's why dEsidEL is right in that it's an opinion thing, a subjective thing.

On the other hand, I personally love trance the most out of any genre (with the exception of classical). Just because someone else doesn't, does that make trance any less important to me? Who are THEY to say that trance ISN'T the best? To me, trance IS the best, and from my perspective, nothing else comes close (again, excepting classical).

And that's what matters the most, what you believe and what you love for yourself, not what others think. I don't care if someone else loves country (or anything else) so much as to call it a religion... to me, that's just not true.

Of course, from an absolute, objective perspective, none of this applies!! Indeed, it's impossible to judge music objectively, as I said above. because of that, music should NOT be compared. You cannot compare beliefs or preferences of different people, simply because of the dilemma - who is the judge, who is the arbiter? Who decides what's "good" and what isn't? Nothing can, except someone else! And that third-party will bring their own subjective perspectives, etc.

So, to sum up, yes, trance is the best and nothing else beats it, *IMHO*. To someone else, however, the complete opposite may apply. But I don't care - it doesn't make a real difference to me.
