-- DJ Shadow... where is he?

Posted by Pointy on Apr-18-2001 07:49:

i was sleeping over at my friends house last night and was searching through his cd collection... then i come across my two DJ Shadow CDs (Endtroducing and Preemptive Strike) which he's nicked off me... bastard..... im listening to them now and they fully own! But my question is.. where is he these days?.. the last i knew of him is the track that he produced was the one on The Beach soundtrack (which is cool)... so yeah, what the hell is he up to?.. or has he just stopped producing

Read This! shadow

Yes indeed UNKLE was a side project for him. Lately DJ Shadow just finished up the music on a big commercial on T.V. I can't remember which though. If you liked the first two cd's which in my mind where just pure producing talent. Check out his "Brainfreeze" Part 1 and 2 with CutChemist. If you truly like that style of music on PreEmptive and Endtroducing check out "ANY" of the Ninjatune label music. I love trance 'n' all but my first love is Ninjatune music. Wide variety of music but different from the norm. Check out these artists "Ming and FS" "DJ CAM" "DJ FOOD" "Up, Bustle & Out" "Amon Tobin" "Mr. Scruff" The closest of the bunch to DJ Shadow is DJ Food. Check out DJ Food - Kaleidoscope especially if you like DJ Shadow's first two cd's. By The way DJ Shadow has about 8 cd's they are just hard to find and all are very unique. A good review to check out http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/recor...eidoscope.shtml

DJ Shadow fuckin rules, him and James Levelle made a damn good partnership for UNKLE.. they worked with damn near evryone under the sun! Mike D from the beastie boyz, Ian Brown, Radiohead.. stuff like that. Shadow is one of the best scratchers i ever heard too

ive haerd OF him from friends and stuff but never any of his productions.. but damn any dj who can mix, scratch, and produce has to be a unique talent! so what style are his productions.. techno, sorta industrial like... such as spacefrog or somethin?
