Trance for life???
Okay, so apparently we need more interesting things to talk about on TA - things that won't start heated arguments and name callling. So......I thought of one:
Is trance just a phase in your life that you're going through or is it something that you'll listen to forever? What I mean is, do you see yourself partying and listening to trance 10 years or more from now?
For me, I'm not sure. I'm 23 right now and I absolutely love partying and trance. Trance, I'm sure, I'll love forever, but partying??? Hmmm, I don't think I'll be doing what I do now (going to clubs, events, and party favours) when I'm 30. I guess it's kind of hard to predict the future. I don't know, I think that partying is a phase in my life but trance isn't. I wonder if I'll still be listening to it when I have children?
Sometimes I wish that I could stay this age forever, have tons of money, and party forever!!!
i think in 10 years i might not be partying anymore but i will defintaly still be intrested in trance and still downloading music and what not
i think
or maybe i'm completly wrong,
we'll just have to see
*saves thread in "do not open for 10 years dir"*
Good Topic
Do you think Trance will be Trance in 10 years?? Look at all the different styles of Trance now.
I have a feeling in 10 years the scene will be WAY different, as will the music, the drugs.... I think more intense (everyone is looking for the strongest or best pills now), The culture we kind of take into our own will probably be mainstream or banned completely.
My girlfriend jokes about me spinning records while she cooks dinner if we get married and old (Might be a little too far fetched) but its realization that it will be around my life for a long time.
Im allready slowing down on the party favours as with age comes responsiblity
I to am 23 --> 24 and can't be carrying on like I do now, for the rest of my life. But I do know a few older partiers (34-35) and they love to watch when we come home and throw the tables on and chill out, they tell us stories and shit, kinda fun!
Anyways back to the topic, for some its probably just a phaze, but for me its a way of life.... and Im all for it!
Whoa !!! I just got pretty into that...sorry guys
There are still people that listen to disco now, even though the era is dead. I imagine it will be the same with trance. Something newer, or more exciting, or whatever will come up and the flock will move. I feel sorry for anyone that still would consider themselves a disco-addict now, and I'll feel sorry for anyone that considers themseleves a trance-addict in 10 or 20 years.
till then, enjoy (=

haven't ya'll seen the OLD asian druggies at the clubs?
those people have truly shown us the way... TRANCE FOR LIFE! hahahaha...
my parents are still clinging onto their old ways, blasting the bee-gees and abba in the house, so i'm pretty sure we'll all be annoying our kids with our "oldies" in the future, =P.

Hell yeah, I will be an 80 year old raver at the Loveparage baby.
I'm sure as I grow older my tastes will change. Look at most people that are 40+ years old. They rarely listen to the same music they did when they were 20. I can say I've never been this interested in a genre of music before so who knows
Only time will tell
in my opinion trance will die out in 5 years or so if not earlier and something else electronic will come along! that's why I never listen to just one type of music! but all kinds of electronic music!
OK.. Since Trance is gonna die soon(and it will for sure), let's all start downloading as much as we can right now, but only listen to like 1 gig of trance a year. This way the collection we'll be able to download now will last us our whole lives.. How you guys like this idea?
Seriously though.. I think I'm still gonna like Trance 5 years down the road, but I won't be as addicted as I am now. That's assuming Trance will even exist then.
i already have 80 gigs of trance, and bored of most of it :/
I have been into the electronic genre since the early 90s with Techno at the fore front in my preferance. Although, I took a slight break from the scene, I quickly re-emerged with a new found love, it was called Trance. As far as the future, I definitively see myself listening to trance or whatever the metamorphosis of the genre will be at that time. Trance is a type of sound that resonates with our primal urges, and it will always have a special place in my heart.
I'm pretty bored with trance for almost 1 year now, no matter what track I hear ... new or old anthems, it doesn't make me dance anymore. Progressive, I hate the most ...enuff said. I went back to jungle and I have to say, that shit make me feel like it's 1998 again
Back to the days when I can dance 6 hrs straight !!! I can see myself partyin' until I have kids, but the amount of parties I attend in a monthly baises has dropped dramaticly.
Everyone leaves the scene and everyone comes back ... life is just too boring without the PARTIES.
My good friend from high school has been partyin' on and off for about 12 yrs now, even though he complains and seems to be very grumpy about the scene ... he still a true massive !!!
Trance is Modern day Classical Music
People still listen to classical, composers still compose.
Trance will survive, and I'm sticking with it. until I'm too old to twist a mixer knob
Peace
"the chosen one"
my favourite tracks will stay with me forever, yet, the party scene for me will probably fade with time, it is something noone can avoid.
life is change.
i have bein going to these event's since 85 and still am going strong
at 33 i have not lost my love of trance and partying/raveing
but yes it has changed the music the event's but as long as one thing doesn't change i will keep going out to these event's and trip my ass off and that one thing is the happy attitude of all true trance loveing peep's
trance is surely a way of life not just a fad
if you love trance now trust me you will alway's be a trance addict
party on peep's and enjoy i do
