Electric Island Labour Day Edition Sept/2nd Ft/ Tale of Us/Joel Mull/Joy Orbison/Chaim
Green Fucking Velvet is killing it proper festival vibe , and live vocals for Flash! Massive set!
***Edited the Thread title From the August Electric Island Review to Electric Island Labour Day Edition.
I do believe hot since 82 is closing the island out n is killing!
Someone said on FB that the party ended up on the news and people are in hospital?
What happened (if anything?)
CTV was reporting... guess we'll hear more from news websites in a few hours
Stay classy Toronto..
Just saw some girl laying on the ground having a seizure and paramedics rushing to the scene. Only emergency I saw/heard of... either way, hope she's alright.
Amazing party start- end. Hot since 82 couldn't make it earlier which made it for an amazing closing set!!
Sick times. No complaints. Fuckin awesome party.
Did someone shit themselves on the ferry?
It was a fun time. Green Velvet was great.
IMO Canada Day event was much better; better vibe as well.
Anyone know the track Velvet played where he added "The One" vocals?
Another great day / night out on the island. Looking forward to Labour Day.
Caught the tail end of Soul Clap who were fun and funky.
Green Velvet was ok.
Hot Since 82 closing out the night was awesome.
These 3 from Hot Since 82 made my night.
Especially this one. Soooooooooooo smooth, can't believe he played it.

Hot Since needs to start coming on time. He's been late on numerous occasions for functions here. He closed out great, but if I was GV and was supposed to close I'd feel somewhat cheated out. But whatever Hot Since killed it at the end so....
Yeah.
I thought Green Velvet was just ok. Banged it out a little hard considering it was still light out. I think it was a perfect accident that HS82 had to come late and close it out.
Soul Clap and Hot Since 82 were great. Green Velvet was pretty good
Oh! This too!
this song was also super bad-ass. green velvet played the original during his set as well.
this song was all kinds of awesome as well...
started off a bit on the sour side.
came to the ferry and no one was giving out tickets. 5,10,20 minutes pass and still no one there. friend got pissed off and paid for all 6 of us again. this shouldn't happen. if they were taking a break, fine. we're all entitled to a break. however, have a backup person come and do the job. i'd really like to know why i paid for a ticket and couldn't get one in a timely manner.
otherwise, i thought this time around the party was a bit more packed than last time. still room to dance, but felt there were more people. also, was there more than 1 ATM there? only saw the one near the entrance... huge line up for that one. at least 30 min. would be nice to have more those like me who just spaced out and forgot cash. i would've loved to spend it on beer, but didn't. i'm sure there were a few that felt the same way.
music wise, good. GV was good in some places, and other times wasn't feeling it at all. way to hard for a sunset set. i understand he was supposed to close originally which would've been perfect for that sound. too bad he didn't adjust.
after GV stopped and HS82 started from scratch, the vibe just went out there air. this is one of the reasons i hate when DJs do that. what happened to mixing into the set and having the previous dj set you up? either way, first hour was a bit slower for me. and just as i was about to leave at 10, he played "At Night". LOVE LOVE LOVE this track as it's a classic, but it was put in such an odd place. it's like some other dj came on and dropped it.
as always friends make the day and this time around was no exception. although i have to say, the Canada Day party was way better. looking forward to see what's in store for Labour Day.

Can someone ID this bad boy for me?
Was insanely smashed..had tix from before but I hit a snag when they weren't initially accepting it at the event. I talked to someone else working there and they sorted it out. Was my first time going to Electric Island and I enjoyed the vibe a lot. Good people and good music (from what I can remember anyway).
bringing any one of the innervisions guys next time around would be dope. then we'd get to hear goodies like this one....
