Djm 500
I always monitor everything with my headphones when i record a mix..Thing is when i listen to the master when mixing the next track the beats are slightly out compared to my headphones..Is this just the way it is with an old mixer(Djm 500) or can it be sorted?
Thanks
John
I think what you're experiencing is just the delay time that it takes for the sound to be reproduced by your speakers and hit your ears.
In clubs, handling this is paramount.
It's been a good 12 years since I've used a DJM 500 so bear with me but if I remember right you have the knob that allows you pan between split ear and both channels combined (i.e. like a master output).
Check both before you bring up the fader for the cue track. I also dump the headphones once I have both tracks in the mix - it negates any possible problem with there being a delay between with headphones and the monitor outputs.
Has nothing to do with your mixer mate this is pretty standard and happens for the exact reason stated above. You just gotta practice until you're able to compensate for the delay.
Cheers guys for the posts
