Anyone else love using the mouse?

I just love the mouse to mix and such, I tried using midi controllers but I sold them really quick (like I usually do with my stuff lol). Im just way faster with it, and enjoy the mechanic with the proper settings. I do use a gaming mouse but it doesnt really mater. BTW reason dudes if you didnt know holding down shift gets you in finite mode. Uhh I dont mean for drawing notes though, I do like a midi controller for that.

I was thinking the same sort of thing while I reading the gas is good thread..

I have a shitty midi keyboard for hitting notes etc but I don't assign anything to its faders, buttons or pots. Even then I usually draw most stuff in the piano roll because I can't play.

Who needs controllers, mouse ftw!!

No. Fucking hate them. Well, with exception to the apple mouse that lets me scroll in all directions, but for mixing, I wouldn't give them the steam off my shit on a cold winter's day.

Track pad for now. Took some getting used to.

This is the unofficial anti-gas thread.

You take it to the extreme though; you literally have speakers, reason and mouse.

and the worst thing about it is that you're so much better a producer than me

I'd sell everything I have for more passion.

Next time I go back to T.O. I will give you some of my passion. Most probably when you least expect it.

Using a mouse makes me look like a monkey fucking a football.

So no.

Posted by MSZ on Sep-08-2013 12:07:

But I thought that was your whole shtick?

Posted by tehlord on Sep-08-2013 12:32:

My whole shtick would go right through the football and out the other side.

Posted by MSZ on Sep-08-2013 12:54:

Ya, maybe if you were talking about table-football.

trackpad on the macbook pro

im like a cripple with a regular mouse

Some things are better done with a mouse or track pad, other things are better done with a control surface or MIDI controller. Why does it have to be one or the other?

Who said you it had to be? You're the only one...

That almost makes grammatical sense. Almost.

Posted by MSZ on Sep-08-2013 16:53:

You know what I mean, but you dont have a response for that one though, ya? Keep trying hard skippy.

Sorry, I have no idea what you mean. I use a mouse, track pad, MIDI controllers, and control surfaces and I have no problem with people using whatever works for them. Where's the problem?

I guess its much to expect from Cryo: his Ad hominems.

Sorry, have I offended you somehow? The grammar thing was a joke (hence the smiley), and my initial comment wasn't meant to be provocative, just more or less stating the obvious.

Btw, which one is more suitable for automation?

I'd say that it depends. Grabbing a fader and recording automation in real-time is usually quicker than clicking with a mouse, especially if you're using a multi-touch control surface and automating multiple tracks or parameters simultaneously. But, using a mouse is usually better when you need precision.
