Can you respect and seriously date someone you had sex with the first time you met?

Yes. Since no objective criteria exists to evaluate the quality of their decision to engage in intercourse, it would be irrational to allow that fact to adversely affect your degree of repect for them.

two votes for "no", two votes for "yes" and two votes for "maybe"... people seem a bit splited here

Voted for "no" (the fact is that I'm a bloody puritan ). However, every girl that wanted to have sex with me that fast, couldn't really have my respect. I mean, I respect them as people (who am I to judge someone?), because I think that she knows her life better than anyone else, besides, she may be more open-minded ( or non-minded ) than me. Nevertheless, I don't feel like having a relationship with such person for obvious differences

Not speaking from experience. But probably. People only look at it as slutty or whatnot because we are taught that it is.

No, because if they had sex with me on the first date they probably have done the same thing on other nights with other guys.

Although I admit that a big double standard does exist here. Most guys do want sex on a first date, and if they get it then the girl's a whore, whereas the guy is a huge stud.

Mmmm although we guys like to have sex with the first girl , we can also see from there what kind of girl she is, me personally, if I really like this girl and feel something deep for her, and have sex with her the first time, I would feel so let down, as I was expecting the best from her in all ways which includes respect, I just like to see a girl that knows how to defend herself from situations.. if the girl tells me right away to .. stay cool and dont go there .. I would actually like that just because she lets herself respect and its not an easy girl .. meaning.. shes worth it .. if its an easy chick, its what I call a WHORE..

Have you considered the possibility that she isn't doing it because she's "easy" but because she _wants_ to? Personally I would rather date a girl who was honest to herself and did what she wanted than one who refused in an attempt to conform to rationally unjustifiable social norms.

Mmm well, I personally like girls who dont go as easy, cause that means they know self respect.. the girl that goes with you the same night has t like a 99.9% of doing the same with alot of other guys.. and I dont like girls done by bunch of guys.. I want them fresh.. something that deserves to be mine.. its the best .. in my opinion..

Fair enough, it's certainly a personal preference thing. It is a good sign that a girl has self-respect, but just because she chooses to have sex early in a relationship doesn't mean that she doesn't. Finally, I share your concern that she might have done the same thing with a bunch of other guys. The reason I voted "no" is because it would not be the fact that she slept with me the first time we met that would cause me to lose respect for her, it would be other aspects of her personality which would surely manifest themselves if she was the type of girl you're concerned about.

But I definitely understand where you're coming from now.

It really depends. I mean if you REALLY hit it off with someone and were instantly madly in love or something, then sure (though I cant speak from personal experience). Its weird tho that guys have one night stands all the time, but they are never considered easy or cheap or anything like girls are.

I think its alright, it depends on what sort of person she is. I could be able to respect her..
