Hello! Site Advertisements

Does anyone know how the site advertisements work?

I'm also curious if they are necessary for the on-going maintenance of TranceAddict.com?

I guess you could fund it yourself

They're unnecessary. The administrator uses them to raise funds so we can buy Djibouti and turn it into Raveland.

That's pretty much the only reason they're there.

How much do you have saved up now?

1,349,589 dollars. But they're Canadian dollars, so in practice we just have five cents.

They're going to make a movie that has Canadian dollar bills in briefcases instead of US dollars soon.

Mark my words!

Good one Lira.

Indeed, I'm a blithering idiot for having joked about antiquated beliefs regarding foreign currencies. My ancestors have all failed as parents, culminating in the walking definition of failure that I have become, my government may well deport me to some fictional country for failing to live up to their standards and hoping I won't find out the fictional country they'll send me to doesn't exist until I'm stuck in an airport far away from here, and my contract as a university lecturer will be revoked because I've clearly shown I'm not on par with my colleagues regarding the minimal intellectual capacity required to utter meaningful words.

But thanks for pointing out. Being a complete idiot, I wouldn't have been able to grasp that myself

Payment is based on the number of active members times hits. Swamper pays out kick backs to loyal members who create multiple alt accounts, threads, frequently pounds the F5 key. Swamper lines his pockets with the advertisement scratch. why not.

It'd be way faster just pointing out that he couldn't even work that website properly. Look, he's converted canadian dollars into canadian dollars! Back asswards-style!
The correct conversion of canadian to usd would be 1,298,305 and some change, yo.

So, all in all - Ya're both idiots. Lagrangian for bungling his attempt at a feeble attack, and Lira for being trolled into writing some pretentious speech.

For the record, I think if you'd said it translated to 50 us dollars, it'd be funnier. 5 cents is stretching it a bit too far imo.

That's the most coherent post I've ever seen you make. Bravo!

Because I hardly ever write long posts like that. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure I'm known on TA for being among the most concise posters, rarely writing more than two words. I once wrote a three word post, and it was such a special occasion, my internet connection didn't work for months because of the volume of data sent all at the same time. I literally clogged the internet in my city, and I had to pay a plumber to get my words out of the tubes, because it couldn't cope with all the majesty of transferring more than two words at any given time. From then on, I've refrained from posting anything that consisted in more than a couple of words and a random smilie in case I needed to convey a deeper meaning in a way that won't elicit responses such as tl;dr from potential repliers.

And, I'm also sure I'm among the most serious TAs, reason I've been in the COR for so long. But thanks for your input, I wouldn't have noticed how pretentious my first post was without your help. Because I'm an idiot.

I think it's cute when lira reads out loud what he's writing in his diary.

TA is the diary I've always wanted, in the sense I've always hoped my diary would speak back to me. And it's even better because this is just like a diary that has been possessed by a whole legion of spirits that can't agree on anything, rather than one stupid self-aware notebook

Nah, to me the five cents really did the trick, much better than us dollars.
