one of the most important records of the year, i am sure most of you have heard it somewhere this summer.

How high were you when you posted this? Are you serious?

Shlomi Aber is such a fucking prat. "Warehouse"? Could he cram in any more tech haus trendster terms if he tried? I remember reading some interview with him where he did the standard retconning of his childhood tastes to say he really loved jazz growing up, and when the interviewer asked who he listened to he said something like "No particular jazz artists. Just jazzy house." Dipshit.

I'd like to see a dj/producer interview where the person just admits to listening to whatever the fuck and then picking up production in their early 30's, turning out to be pretty good at it. I think thats the more realistic take rather than acting like they were playing guitar in the womb.

I think this is pretty much what happened with Guy Gerber. He played soccer/football for a while and then got into the techno scene.

And yeah, Shlomi Aber was the source of the black face thread. I read an interview with Sasha where he gave this, more honest answer (and this was back in '99, before every dipshit and his dog was an upcoming tech haus sensation):

Yeah, I just checked discogs, it's called Chicago Days / Detroit Nights. Listening to some of samples now, it's actually surprisingly decent as far as rather basic deep/tech house goes. That said, the album title and cliche samples (let's just sample some random black guy talking, that'll give my track plenty of authenticity...) are pretty laughable obviously.

I certainly wouldn't go describing this as 'important'. I find most of Shlomi Aber's stuff to be fairly disposable, this included.

Does anyone remember when Aril Brikha accused him of plagiarism?

His music used to be much better. It's just really loopy and boring tool tech house now.
