It's a huge step up for the 13". The previous 13" had a piss weak video card that was totally not appropriate for a retina screen.

I'm going to wait a few months for everyone else to iron out the bugs and then I'll be buying one.

I just bought the 2.3GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, version off a guy on craiglist for nearly 800 dollars off the retail price , it was also in its original package and I got 1 year warranty , not sure why he didn't just return it but I got a pretty sweet deal.

Yeah I paid 2100, it would of came out to 2986 in store here the tax itself is about 3 hundred dollars. I made sure to check the serial number and actually met the guy at an apple store to make the transaction and make sure it was legit .

Yeah I'm a fl user I might use boot camp but. I know there's a Mac compatible version in beta currently.

Or I might start playing around with logic.

Check out Parallels before committing to Bootcamp. I put it on my wife's MacBook Air so she she could run some of her PC-only software and it's pretty slick.

I recently bought a 2009 8 core mac pro online and plan to upgrade it down the road to a 12 core. Super solid machine so far and Windows runs very well.

I upgraded the video card to a GTX 760 and I'm maxing out all games on the PC side. Logic runs smooth although I'm coming from Ableton and have yet to really push it as far as big sessions go.
