Dj Tiesto (Gouryella)

Why do people put this down? On the Purple Eye Entertainment website, under their artist list, they have "Dj Tiesto (Gouryella)" I know Corsten and Verwest are Gouryella so why do people just put Gouryella next to Tiesto's name? Why not Ferry's too? Also, when I talk to other people that are getting into trance, they're like " Yea, i really like Tiesto's Gouryella tunes". What the hell?!

Posted by oDrori on Oct-01-2002 00:55:

It happens, I guess folks who like Corsten better can accidntally drop Tijs and vice versa, like Ferry got more recognition for the Veracocha stuff...

Tiesto, corsten, who cares, gouryella - gouryella is a great song.

I don't see why they still have that, Tiesto dropped out of Gouryella. Although he did do "Gouryella", "Walhalla", and "Tenshi" under the Gouryella name along with Corsten, he is no longer part of the project and I can't see why they still have him listed as part of the project besides attracting people just because it says "Tiesto" on it

As long as Gouryella lives in the form of Corsten alone, that's ok by me. Ligaya is awesome, props to Ferry!!!

Some people are just not informed right..

exactly.

Is Tijs so more famous than Corsten? I mean, if they add "Tiesto" just to impress people, I don't understand why they couldn't use Corsten's name as well - those who like trance usually know both of them

tiesto isnt in gouryella anymore, but i was reading in ministry magazine i think, in the reviews for trance, and they had gouryella - ligaya, and it said now it is only corsten because van buuren left, haha i was like what the fuck, van buuren isnt in gouryella, so you are right up there, some people arent informed right, or some might be stupid

It's fine by me as well, Ligaya is a classic tune

Tiesto made Gouryella what it was!

perfect for remixes?, but the original lacks a certain something?
the only original I even like is Gouryella
Walhalla is all about the armin and hybrid mixes
and Tenshi is all about the Transa mix

Posted by [DJK] on Oct-01-2002 12:27:

ahem...Why put 'Gouryella - Ligaya' and not 'System F (or something) - Ligaya' in the first place? It just confuses people (if they are stupid enough). I was just wondering if Ferry himself wasn't just cashing in on the 'Gouryella' name...

Posted by CortexBomb on Oct-01-2002 14:11:

It seems to be a fairly common mistake for people to make...probably just out of lack of knowledge...

Gouryella isn't the only project to have mistakes commonly made about it, stuff like the Kamaya Painters, Major League, Vimana, and so forth are very commonly mis-represented as being only one producer, or aren't recognized as being either of them!

Chalk it up to one too many aliases (or about 10 too many in many cases!) for your average trance producer...you really can't expect anyone other than the complete die-hards to keep up with it all you know...

although i cant remember the last time purple eye updated their profiles when kid vicious made re-form i think

Ligaya sounds Gouryellish, not System F'ish, that's why he kept the alias, I guess

hehe, they ignorant, not stupid

By the way have avb, tijs and ferry ever worked together? No, right?

i love all the gouryella tracks but i think walhalla is the best. i haven't heard ligaya but i'm sure it's good even if my fav dj (Tiesto) isn't in gouryella anymore. i still love ferry

it was written ferry only because he made ligaya alone

Kinda -

Gouryella - Gouryella (Armix)
Gouryella - Walhalla (Armin Van Buuren's Rising Star Dub mix)
Gouryella - Walhalla (Armin Van Buuren's Rising Star mix)

As for a co-production of them all - Too much ego. It was hard for Tijs and Ferry alone to work toghether so think about adding Armin to the equasion...
