Ligaya Overrated
Man i was browsing the choon of the year thread and everyone is saying ligaya and getting so defensive when someone even utters another track. Someone said that we were all talking about it when we heard the news of its arrival, fair enough, but am I the only one who was disappointed in the finished product?
i dont like it much ?
#2 i dont like it at all...
#3
#4
it's a good track imho. but i wouldn't call it choon of the year, not even close. i think it's cause the track is blanketed with the name "gouryella", that's prolly what's causing most of the hysteria.

I'm holding the #5 spot for someone else...

Ligaya thread #5367

I think it's underrated. It has most of the power of Ferry's remix of Barber's Adagio for Strings, but the production quality is tighter. But that's just my opinion, everyone is entitled to their own and it's stupid to get defensive if someone disagrees with you - it's just their personal taste. I don't think it's the tune of the year, though, or even a strong candidate. I'd go for Oceanlab - Sky Falls Down (Original Mix) or maybe Altitude - Altitude (S.H.O.K.K. Remix).
its shit if you ask me
im not hesitant to say its ferry's worst production
it sucks

When I heard it the first time, there was nothing really spectacular about it. I thought Tenshi was a lot better. On subsequent times though, I thot the strings really enhanced the song. Nevertheless, not really tune of the year, maybe track of the month.
Ligaya: it seems you either a) really hate it to the point where you go mental at the mere mention of it or b) love it like it's one of the most outstanding tracks ever produced.
Of course I'm completely exaggerating, but am I one of the only people who neither hates or loves it, and just appreciates it as a decent tune and nothing more?
And btw I don't see how you can class it as cheese - sure it uses a tried and tested formula but it's similiar to Fire and Ice - Souvenir de Chine and William Orbit - Barber's Adagio For Strings (Ferry Corsten Remix) and they're hardly cheese.
True, a good track, but I think a little more work on it could have made it better. Walhalla is still better I think. Although, there are only 2 remixes I know of, maybe future remixes will be killer.
topside
It is just a good track, but not SPECIAL. So not the tune of the year
I like the track well enough, but I couldn't care less whether someone thought it was tune of the year or not. I know I wouldn't vote for it.

Ligaya is OK,
But i certainly wouldnt call it cheese!
Jesus, the definition of cheese gets thrown around so much here, a track has to be made by James holden or sasha before its offically not cheese, which is bullshit.
Im not to fond of the track but i dont think anyone can justify calling it cheese
I'm a massive ferry fan and i still wouldnt call this track of the year or an outstanding classic or anything but still how can anyone call it cheese its a nice track that works well in a set and is nice live so cheese i think not.
I like the song a lot, so I may be biased, but it's fucking annoying when people either say:
It sucks balls.
Cheese.
Ferry's Worst production ever.
I've played the song for people, and those who didn't like it that much still appreciate the production and melody. They thought it was alright.
Spend your time lambasting Darude and Ian Van Dahl, not Ferry.
