Ibiza vs Mallorca?
Hey fellow TA'ers,
I have been to Ibiza (at playa den bossa) several times and we are looking to go back to the region next summer. Instead of doing Ibiza altogether, we are thinking of doing Mallorca instead for a week in July.
I love beaches and love a good night clubbing.
Quick question. Has anyone been to Mallorca? Is it worth going to Mallorca and skipping Ibiza? Is the nightlife/crowd on Mallorca younger/older? Muscially I like techno - think Cocooon. Any travel tips? Is it worth it?

It's more of a family island.
i think there is 1 big club there (BCN) that has a few parties but overall its very different from Ibiza. if you want to hear good music while on your vacation gotta pick Ibiza. Nothing wrong going for a day or two to say you went but from a clubbing standpoint you'd be disappointed.
You may wanna look into Mykonos (Greece) if you are looking for another party island in that region.

been to mykonos...it was nice...party wise, it was more mainstream and a many many of americans.
i guess nothing compares to ibiza.

I've been to both islands. Ibiza has way better parties and is also way more expensive overall. Just stay away from San Antonio with the exception of the sunset strip. Mallorca is bigger, lots of great places to go hiking and sightseeing, more family oriented. There's a town in Mallorca where the young Germans go, it was a complete shithole. The parties and clubs that I went to were horrendous compared to Ibiza.

I was out there for a Month in 2012 and did a week in 2010... i am hoping to go out and do a whole Summer soon...
If you are trying to jus go to nice beaches and see some good techno... i would go to Ibiza and stay in Playa Den Bossa which is where Space, Ushyia and Bora Bora Beach are. Always Good techno at Space. Then you Can Catch the disco Bus out to San Joseph to go to Amnesia for Cocoon or Cream or hit up Privilege.
If you do go out to San Antonio, I agree, you have to go to the sunset Strip and hang out along the boardwalk. Going into the west end is a toss up you never know who you could run in to. Its def where a lot of the workers and UK kids go to pre-party. Its also nice if you end up short on cash and still wanna be out. West End is a Strip of Dive Bars, Strip Clubs, and Pretty much just a circus. The West End is def not for the faint of heart. It is also a great area if you are looking to get connected for possible work out there for the future.)
But as said before Get out to the Sunset Strip in San Antonio: Cafe Del Mar, Cafe Mambo, Savanah, and Kanya Beach Hotel. This is were you will find most if not all the Sunset Parties!
you Could always Go explore Formentera... which is the small Island at the bottom of the Balerics... its mostly Beaches. But fun for exploring for like a day trip or two.

anyone here actually been to Kazantip? seems like such a headache to get there!
Mallorca is for older crowd. It's still a good place though. I would recommend Las Palmas if you haven't been there yet.
