this event is very tempting, worry about the crowd control tho

this one would be the go to one for sure, but was so set on Patterson.
but last one for now...

no buzz because of venue but i've only heard good reviews from friends and read great things on twitter. marco delivers.

ummm....that kind of sounds like "buzz" to me!

lol

LEON and Marco tonight! It's not the just bold-faced names that can crush it. Leon is a very talented producer and DJ with a lot of experience playing with Marco. Looking forward to this one.

Oh you mean Oz? Well he can't go out on Fridays because he has to always work in the morning....so he wouldn't even know.

Gotta be there to experience it for yourself. That's what life is all about! C'mon CarS, I thought you were a free thinker, a man bold enough to face the wind, to take a stand for free water, and dance the night away!

the truth.

yeah i haven't been (yet) but i also heard that the music on parties has been very good. me and cars was just talking about how we don't really talk about every single party @ ta forums anymore. it seems like many of us know each other here and don't really need to write review for every party.

anyways this one should be real good. it's too bad i'll be out of the country but hope to make it to the one with shaun reeves (if times allows)

I didn't really know what you meant by that until just now, but one learns, now I understand that a lot better.
Good thing is that more and more places are coming to town

i wouldn't say marquee is a BAD venue, it's just not OUR ideal venue. it has a great system, staff is actually friendlier than you'd expect, cool lighting, etc. we may prefer a dark warehouse and blah blah but at least for my group of friends, sometimes it's fun to get dressed up and bring out friends that otherwise wouldn't come out since it's easier to sell them on a hot spot in chelsea vs a dungeon in brooklyn lol.

on the other hand, i will say the main thing places like marquee lack is vibe and that's because over 50% of the crowd there is only interested in their appearance and how cool they look in front of the others as opposed to truly there for the music. that's just how it is these days.

yeah, theres always people like that.
but the venue def. contributes to attracting the preening weenies when prices are very high, when they take what they can, like these events, not to mention drinks, cause thats the set that doesnt like paying too little, "how prole".

one night a few months back, one of the ladies here had a majorly bad night at marquee due to the crowd that night, dont think shes going back from what I heard then, but not sure

system is one of the best in town, though I think Output's bests it. since the two are so related, think its a room volume vs. sizing issue (guessing from observation only)

speaking of other places, whats become of Space?

I was there once and I was reallllyyyy shitfaced so I do not remember much, but I recall feeling a bit claustrophobic even though I am not...

Posted by Neonbeats on Dec-19-2013 01:23:

Really? I liked Sankeys. Much better than D36 at least. Both rooms have a way better layout and all the lighting makes it feel like the people on the balcony aren't just creeping looking down.

^^^
what about the sound?
Very negative comments here from those who went opening weekend.
Has that improved?

I went the other week and thought the sound was great. Bass that you could feel in your chest and the mids/highs were crisp and clean. No ear fatigue when I left. They may need some flood speakers in some portions of the club, but that's about it.

went for Shonky and also for the MANDY party, sound was crap
