trance night in vancity???

who wants to start a trance night in bc?? vancouver

i have enough $$ to get things going..and live close to downtown...

i've always wanted to promote, and have some neat ideas to get alot of people out.

seriously, if anyone knows of a club/space/even a damn warehouse, i wanna do a monthly friday trance night...

i don't even know of local trance dj's...the only trance dj i know is kyle joygasm....or something like that..

anyway, what do you all think....

no club in their right mind will give up their friday night(unless tehy really suck) Ppl dont drink to trance. The bar sales just arent there. You could maybe approach about an afterhours thing..but I dont know how vancouver is for that.

J-spot is right. You won't find a Friday night, maybe a monday-wednesday. Afterhours are pretty scetchy as well because cops love to break that shit up.

You can apply for a legal afterhours permit and through a party in a warehouse but I think everybody must be 19 to attend and some other stupid rules.

If you want to make a name for yourself I would suggest bring in a fairly well-known DJ and rent a club for a night, and start your club nights from there.

If you need someone to help I would like to get involved somehow. I can help promote, fund, give ideas or whatever.

Yeah same here....me and Dj Phu are trying to set something up. We are gonna start talking to clubs and see if we can get one night to try it out.....maybe we can try together....

Danny (24k on this site, newbie though =P) is responsible for bookings on Friday nights at Viva now, and I'll be playing there pretty much every Friday.

In other words, Viva on Friday is now prog and trance.

Yeah like Sean already said,,, we have 2 nights now @ VIVA Club in Richmond. Thursdays are focused more on the harder styles of trance,,, and fridays are Progressive and Deeper styles of trance. Viva has an AWESOME stereo system,,, a 16 thousand dollar laser and have just added 10 thousand in new lighting.

If you guys want anymore info on the nights just contact myself or Sean.

I don't know if you'd call it 'Kevin Shui' style. The last time I saw him spin was when he opened for Tiesto,,, and IMO the stuff we play is a lot better. Basically,,, we play progressive and even a bit of tribal house early in the night,,, and after 11:30 is pretty much all trance. The place went off last week when Sean played the TPOD mix of Second Sun- Empire.

There are a few bookings that I wasn't able to cancell for this week,,, but next week will be an awesome night. I'll post the line-up as soon as it's confirmed.

The track that went over best was still the Iberia main room mix of Circa Forever though =)

Can't wait to drop Nebuchan this week, shame about the other bookings though, would have normally liked to drop that tune later in the evening.

Yeah, that's the kind of stuff we like to open the night with. The people there aren't nearly as into prog as they are bigroom trance though, but the plan is to slowly convert them to the cause =P

No idea about cover, crowd is pretty much all Asian with a few exceptions. It gets pretty full in there and runs til 2.

Thanks for the support. EVERY club in Vancouver has fights,,, and I'm sure many have also had shootings,,, you make it sound as if there are are fights and shooting happening at Viva every week. Grab a fuckin clue. Aside from the crowd being mostly Asian(which is not a bad thing),,, Viva isn't diffrent tha any other club.
