JAMES VS. JAMES

In August 2010, two of New York's most prominent underground DJs James
Gill and RoryJames found a common ground in their passion to play
pure, true progressive house in it's untainted form, even when much of
this music was disappearing for more commercial, pop-driven sounds.
In October 2010, they joined together to play as James vs. James, and
with an immensely positive response, it only went up from there. With
quality always in mind, they have continued to push their sound
forward, headlining shows at some of New York's most reputable venues,
and playing alongside world-class talent. Individually they have
released respected underground productions, held widely popular radio
shows and podcasts, and thrown some of the most hyped performances in
underground progressive music in the Big Apple. Together known as
edgy, dark, and driving, their music represents modern, fresh
progressive sounds with tech-infused grooves, melodically emotional
riffs, and deep, rolling basslines. Their sound is unmistakeable, and
their energy is one-of-a-kind. James vs. James today has come to
represent true progressive in New York.

Good seeing you too Cars.. Finally I remember this time lol

James vs James was the highlight for me.. Kind of prog house that I discovered this year and fell in love with... Dark, beautiful, and sexy, very nicely put together set by these guys..

Kearney was pretty good but very short.. He didn't even play two hours, not sure what happened there.. Still it was a good but a little safe set, kinda felt like the best trance of 2013 sorta set.

I didn't stay for the closer so can't say anything about 'that Asian dude'.

Under 2 hours? the fuck?

Also, how do you close after Kearney? Dude plays techy 140 acid shit... the type of music that finishes the night out. If I was closing for him I'd probably just say fuck it and play funk for the rest of the night.

That's why I left.. I heard Ferry Corsten - beautiful, so I looked up and Kearny was gone and some other dude got on the decks.. I don't even know when he got off the decks, I just blinked and kearney was gone.

I was like.. wtf? and I bounced.

yeah, sort of a stealth transition, idk why either, wasn't announced that I'd seen. dude must have had his crew there going by reaction of remaining people.

Liked the venue, not a bad spot...

I just looked at some pics that esscala posted on fb.. every damn pic Kearney's on he is putting on some grim faces.. I'm not sure if he didn't have fun or that's his game face but to me he didn't look like he wanted to be there..

got to slake pretty late, so i only got to see the tail end of kearney's set.... which i have to say, was better than i expected

he dropped a string of old school tracks:

solarstone - seven cities
john o'callaghan feat. audrey gallagher - big sky [remix]
pvd - i don't deserve you
ferry corsten - beautiful [closing track]

and 'that asian guy' who closed was amazing! his name is TAESTY so look out for him in the future! sick transitions and just full of energy

fave track dropped: filo + peri feat. aruna - ashley [a.l.e.x. morph remix]

I got sick of Beautiful when it was being played at those Best Buy/Nokia Theatre events...but compared to what Ferry plays today, I really miss that track, lol.

have to agree that taesty did a decent job, but when you're gonna be a late arrival, it does kind of suck to miss a long headliner set.
ought to be announced somehow.
but was worth staying to close...
