set times TBA

Posted by diabloargentino on Dec-29-2013 17:21:

probably the "best" party out of all of them in the city this year since you can have re-entry and there are a lot of great names.

avatism had visa issues which sucks bcuz he was a main pull. tennis to me is the standout name, although that's very biased of me lol .

hopefully they do the set times proper.. i dont even know when the party actually begins. i maaaay end up there late NYE (2-3am) depending on what peeps tell me but still leaning on doing nothing for once .

i told myself the only way i'd go to this if it tennis had a good set time and he's on for 3 hours in prime time. CRAP!

Posted by Skeptic on Dec-31-2013 17:22:

now I wanna go. The set times are perfect. I was only interested to see the DJs that are on from 12:30 to 10:00 am anyway. I thought they were gonna have them play non sequential; so that, and the fact that its gonna be rammed, kept me from buying tickets.

Have fun Diablo. I'm sure tennis will drop the goodies

Absolute magic. Great decor in the main room- time warp cave-esque. When I first got inside like 1 minute after midnight, it was really empty although the line to get in was 100+ deep. They had a projector cycling through different modes, including a really cool Deep Space, Nebulae one which was being projecting onto the cave drapes.

Matthew Dekay was awesome.
It was really special hearing - Active Child - Johnny Belinda (Matthew Dekay mix)- almost felt like a spiritual intro or blessing to the night. (I know it sounds corny).

The panther room was PACKED all night. Tons of real heads, or at least cool people who seemed like they were there for the music.

Quenum was unreal and came on like 20 minutes late at 1:30. great party/old school vibe along and he also played his more out-there productions which are sick. check out "zone erogene"

Tennis BLEW MY MIND. Had a hard time getting into his set for the first 10 minutes or so i was there then BOOM. This song he played that sounds like active child remix mentioned above... damn. I actually recorded a clip and will throw up the real bootleg recording on soundcloud to hopefully find its name. HUGE emotional orchestral string song.

Nikola Baytala was real sick. tons of Disco and reworks/remixes/updates to classics. he was mixing pretty tight and was really working off the crowd.

Nil aka Lou and George were playing half vinyl set up, great layering. playing some good Ost Gut Ton records.

tINI vs Bill Patrick... need I say more?

I came back at 3pm, I heard Dewalta had a great set,

Ostrich was throwing down pretty hard and the panther room was wayyy more exciting than the main room at that time.

THUG******. i ended up leaving at 12:45 and they were still playing.
the magic in the air around midnight#2 between the crowd, the ridiculous lighting, and THE MUSIC. they played a number of songs in a row that seemed almost predetermined it worked sooo well. That phrygian (middle eastern sounding) song, Tennis also played.

Just magical. met so many cool people and some real stellar babes.

one of my most favorite nights to date. Cheers to 2013 and 2014. thanks output.
wtf would I do without you? go to sankeys and take my shirt off for the bros at victor calderone?

1st one yes, the ochestral song you can hear fading out as the bass comes in.

2nd one - realized the thug****** song and tennis song are 2 different. both middle eastern sounding. but Tennis played the Ten Walls track.

I'm all screwed up, orchestral song i keep talking about was one of matt dekays last tracks before tennis took the decks. its followed up by this song Quenum really got the crowd going with.

Also recorded this Tron style tune, reminded me of tale of us, idk why.

not just at night, daytime too.
Really want to heat some of that on the big system, with more space.
and even when people hadn't seen the set-times, so not knowing names, were very appreciative, so yup on that crowd.

only saw the tail-end of that set, but from what I heard, can see why!

oh boy, fun stuff, before I knew it, 9 is rolling around.

heard Dewalta had a great set

after a breakfast run, came back for DeWalta a little before noon.
Walking through main room, some really interesting deep, dark stuff coming forth, made a special note to look up who that was. turns out T &F. people tend to be dismissive cause their locals, but this was really appropriate stuff, kudos to them.

Still, off to DeWalta.
had high hopes for this set, based upon his EZoo AP, and if anything, like his stuff more now.
That was some solid two hours, built up well from the first.
One nice thing about P.R. is the ground level booth with good viewing spots.
was using lots of vinyl, quite fun to watch the deck chops.
definitely recommend a listen next time hes back.
I do hope if/when Resolute brings him back, extended time, and big system, and maybe live as well.

Bella Saris segued right in, and liked her set, knows her stuff, no vinyl though.
One thing, if you're not going to use the tables, spinning a banana close to platter edge is probably not something the bearing appreciates.

Thanks to that overzealous security guy at PR, had to miss that, oh well.
But being forced into the main room wasn't so bad, I really liked the ambience of Khoury's set (and id's for that would be interesting) Worked very well for when you're 18 hours in w/o real break.
so, very glad to be forced into that set.
what kind of stuff does he usually do, nvr seen before.
(think when we talked towards end of his set, you liked too, right?)

damn, knew I should've stayed, but last brew you spotted prob. did me in.

Nothing to add to your summary of this event, except that it would've been nice if the roof thing had been worked out, that makeshift smoke cubby hole was not good (guess the food on premises never worked out, either)

Posted by benjamin1forty on Jan-03-2014 19:04:

Only caught like 20-30 minutes of Mike Khoury and it sounded nice. Atmospheric, dark, ambient... I think that's when I ran into you(Cars) again.

I'm listening to Ost-rch's recording from Stereo in August.

I really can't get over Matthew Dekay's set. I would like to see him again. soon.

Panther Room gave me that Boiler Room vibe. (not that I've been to a boiler room session or anything). One of my best friends came along midnight - 9am, had a great first experience at Output. He just texted me re-thanking me and telling me "it opened my eyes in more way than one" hahaha.

I'll have to give the Tennis set another listen, but I just wasn't as impressed as I usually am with him. On the other hand, Tini and Bill Patrick were absolutely amazing. I was sobering up from drinking earlier and I was worried about having enough energy to last through the morning but........ holy moly, ten o'clock was upon us before I knew it. The first two hours of their set ranks up there with anything I've heard in a while. So much fun. As for the rest of the party, everybody has basically said it - great music, great vibe, great people. I took a much needed afternoon break before coming back, but if I could've cloned myself I would've never left
