Pure Trance is a feeling, a passion which exists outside of contemporary musical fads and fashions. It is the bringing together of millions of fans for whom this music is a way of life

Since it was conceived in the basement clubs and backstreet studios of Berlin in 93 and propelled overground in 98, trance has twisted, transformed and mutated in a hundred different directions. Solarstone one of its foremost draughtsmen has now initiated a roots return for the genre. A rally against inorganic and trend-driven Trance, his is a rediscovery or what first drew so many to the genres flame. For those more interested in whats good, rather than whats the latest, all your wishes are about to come true The reclamation has started! Behold Pure trance!

What.
A new club night concept, created & hosted by trance pioneer Solarstone, introduced to fill a massive gap in the market created by current musical fads and fashions in the EDM club scene.

Why.
Millions of Trance lovers worldwide feel abandoned by a shift towards cold, aggressive music containing none of the emotion, melody or spiritual essence of Pure trance music a sound which has proved time and again to be one with true longevity, which has captivated and united EDM lovers worldwide since Trance first exploded onto the international scene in 1998. Solarstone presents Pure Trance events cast aside these transient and ultimately temporary fads and fashions, bringing together world renowned, experienced & respected Djs with millions of clubbers who know that this sound is here to stay and wish to proudly celebrate it. Vive La Trance!

@ Z:

Im at EFC in Philly earlier that night. w/o speeding, can prob. make SRB by 1:30 to 2.
How late is this going, think it makes sense to go?
There have been events at SRB past 7, so that would be ok, 5h would be nice still
Thanks!

think iam gonna hit this one up
not too fond of morph but the rest of the line-up are 2 guys that to me still play some really good trance
srb is a pretty big venue for this, hope heads make the troop to brooklyn and support this and it wont be one of those nights when its you and only 10-20 other people on the dancefloor

Posted by djnoonstar on Jan-16-2014 04:28:

ohh how i used to love trance & trance parties, not sure what happened

Saw Alex Morph at ASOT450 Roseland, I remember him being just OK compared to the amazing trance acts that night.

who knows maybe ill give it another shot one day

does that mean, even if you could get high-quality trance of circa 8-15 years ago right now, you wouldn't like it anymore now, or you don't like most of the stuff that word is applied to today?

personally, I think I went the other way, I can listen to some stuff today that back when made me cringe and want to kill the sound, fwiw
(disregarding any objective crap I might have liked at some point)

Not necessarily, my taste just evolved into more "underground", which i wasnt really to familiar with. I slowly stopped keeping up with new trance tracks, remixes, artists etc. Next thing you know its trouse madness and never really looked back.

I know there is still some quality trance djs out there and been meaning to check one out to see if I can still enjoy as I used to

yea i get what you mean. 10 years ago all i knew was trance. thats when to me trance was really on top of the world.
around 2010 it just all started to slowly decline
uplifting/epic trance these days is really hard to find
alot of trance these days minus trouse stuff is either wayyyy over produced and has epic lord of the rings type violin and piano breakdowns or its all that new team 140 harder psy style

i have pretty much switched over the the more prog side of things
(airwave,joof,relaunch,timewave,gai barone,basil o glue etc etc)

wow.. I'm surprised you're more forgiving than me when it comes to trance.. For me trance has been on decline since 2009.. IMO 2008 was last year that trance was really good. Of course there are a few tracks that were worth a listen or two after, but not in the same numbers as them good tracks were coming out in 2008 and before.

As for Pure.. I'm there for Orkidea!!!

@cars not sure exactly what time it will go to but if its a packed house SRB may allow it to go a lil later. At the time u will arrive u will prob miss orkidea which will suck but u will still get to see morph and solarstone so its really a matter of which djs are the priority to you. 70% of the reason I went to the last pure trance was Orkidea lol

there's still a ton of great trance coming out man. i never was the uplifting trance kind of guy but i'd be lying if i said there weren't great (new) uplifting songs that i really enjoy the shit out of right now. here's two of them:

and don't even get me started on how much great "progressive" trance is coming out and not even getting noticed atm because of all the flavor of the month marketing push for "uplifting" and "pure" trance right now.

take for instance this track, something i could definitely hear armin playing in a longer live set if he were still playing sets like he did around the time he did the mccarren park pool parties:

no degga degga bassline so people looking for uplifting will write it off. it has some strong snares and risers in there, so people who love to play the "trouse" card will write it off. but in my honest opinion, this track is a great example of quality progressive trance that has an awesome blend of emotional melodies and a nice groove

shit, there's even awesome progressive vocal trance making its way out and not even getting attention:

people are just too anal, become biased because of one bad egg (like an orjan nilsen electro-ish track) and then assume there's no good trance at 128-132 bpm. in reality, there are plenty of artists true to a trance sound across the style spectrum that just don't get any respect because people are too busy bickering over stupid shit like bpm, bassline patterns, and whether or not a snare roll is trouse.

glad i came across this post as it gave me something to do killing time before class. /end rant

If it's anything like the last Pure its gonna be like this:
Orkidea 10-12 - Solarstone 12-2 - Morph 2-4

so make sure to get there early to catch Orkidea's set because it will be the best set of the night.. No offense to the other two guys, I'm just biased.
