feelings of guilt and abandonment while pooping

does anyone feel guilty or abandoned sometimes while taking a dump (and ONLY while taking a dump)? i don't know why but i find myself overwhelmed almost to the point of tears sometimes on the shitter.

but it only happens on the toilet. taking a dump is a vulnerable and emotionally charged act, after all, so i wouldn't be surprised if many more people have had similar experiences.

i generally feel quite the opposite when im on my throne. The feeling of accomplishment i feel when i have created my own organic submarine which i am about to christen with a nicely wadded ball of toilet paper before sending it off on its maiden voyage to pillage and plunder the sewers of ottawa. I know in my heart and by the profound stench i created, that this behemoth of the deep will slay numerous lesser turds and sewer rats on its long journey to ROPEC (ottawa's sewage treatment plant) where it will once again strike fear into the hearts of each and every sanitation employee that it floats past. all of them quivering in fear of the formidable weapon lurking in the depths of either the primary, secondary or tertiary flocculation basins...

when i have finished basking in the glory of dropping yet another eipc deuce, i will proudly throw open my throne room door and proclaim lovingly to my girlfriend "honey, you better come look at this before i flush it!"

It's the closest a man can come to giving birth. It's a labor of love I even name my biggest ones. I feel a pang of sorrow when I flush that no one has seen my creation.

you probably suffer from orthostatic hypotension/intolerance or postular ortostatic tachycardia syndrome, which is cutting off/impeding optimal blood flow, thus causing a lack of blood reaching your brain. the first symptoms are often feelings of remorse, or that the world is about to go under. it's quite under-diagnosed, and often secondary.
try changing your shitting posture.

I often feel a hallowed emptiness, like a big piece of me is missing. Could this be a physical or emotional condition?

Actually sort of close to true. When you bear down to take a shit, you stimulate the vagus nerve, which can cause what is called a vasovagal episode, whereby the heart rate slows and peripheral blood vessels dilate causing a quick drop in blood pressure, feelings of light headedness, and sometimes a loss of consciousness. It happens to old ass mufuckas a lot. It is also a purposeful technique used to help slow the heart in people with cardiac arrhythmias.

yeah i sometimes use that position when my adrenaline is going crazy because of my POTS, which is what I described in the post u quoted.
wohoo, drop in blood pressure when going from supine position = grey spots in front of eyes and pre-syncope (sometimes even smack! faceplant lol). if i manage to stay upright then whoooooosh, like being injected with meth in the eyeball.
didnt know the position stabilised my condition bcus of stimulation of the vagus nerve tho. will def use that piece of info at apt with my new doc tomorrow

Orthostatic hypotension and vasovagal response are two different things.

Cant you just read the shampoo bottle? How about reddit on your phone?

Seriously is taking a dump so philosophical?

Posted by Lira on Feb-09-2014 04:02:

Yes, it is.

As for the original question, no, but I do feel desperately alone and miserable when I throw up. I'm not sure if it's just because that's quite a rare occasion, but when I do, I feel I need someone by my side... though, of course, I always stop short of actually inviting someone to see me spewing out my insides in the restroom
