Reverbnation

Is anybody using reverbnation? I'm going to update some of my older house and electro tracks and wondering is it any good. I was looking around and it seems sort of dead now lol.

Not that great. They send daily spam, several emails a day, trying to get you to use their premium services. It's annoying. I say just stick with soundcloud or youtube.

Yeah, same here. I still have my RN account, but I haven't updated it in years. I've considered just deleting it, but I figure it doesn't really hurt to have a presence there, even if I don't keep it up to date. Seems like it's mostly rock-n-roll guys there these days, though, so not sure how well it reaches the intended audience.

Thanks guys. I think I will just stick with soundcloud. Zodiac9- I didn't even think about youtube so may be I will set up a channel and post them there too. Good idea.

I'm of the same opinion with others regarding ReverbNation. The only activity I get on that site is private messages or emails from RN begging me to pay outrageous prices to promote to a dying audience, or invitations to participate in geographically irrelevant events.

The only plus side is you can use it as a destination for higher quality streaming of your music than Soundcloud.

Yeah, that's a good point. Also, I know that at one point (a few years ago) the only way to integrate your music with your FB artist page was through the RN player or something. I have no idea if that's still the case, since I only post individual links to my Soundcloud page whenever I upload a new song.

Actually that's the original reason I have a RN account lol

I just now went to cancel my RN account. I didn't check my email for a few days, most of the "spam" was from RN. 8 emails in the last few days. When I logged into my account, I was notified that I made the top 10 charts for my local area. 2 measly plays in january put me in the local top 10, impressive. It's nothing, but that distracted me enough to where I guess I won't cancel now. Maybe later. The constant spam is truly annoying though.
