really? that's funny.. people seem to either really love marco and not care for him at all.
definitely big hype behind him but felt he lived up to it, at least for his nyc shows up here. he absolutely DECIMATED marquee at the closing party..

Just like anything else, there's so many sounds for everybody and anybody. Marco's sound is definitely an acquired taste, I do have to say that I'm a fan. His minimal funky Miami vibe is perfect for SOME parties, and an epic fail for others.
I've learned that you can't really even say so-and-so is better than this guy or that guy because it's so damn subjective.
For instance I think Drumcode and labels like it (Phobiq, Octopus, Suara, Soma, etc) put out some of the most interesting, dark, complex sounding techno but to others it's just labeled as big room filler. Of course they do put out some of the massive big-room tuneage but also a lot of really heavy, heady stuff as well.

Sounds like eveything else
Also looking more forward to guy bringing guests as his guests usually play some newer sounding on the edge type shit, compared to Marco and the generic tech house type stuff he and his biddies loco ect play.

I used to think this, but I'm either just getting too old or not "getting" a lot of his current sets

That's the gerber I miss... Unimpressed with his set at Basel but IMHO its a step up from music on
