Finally, an answer to all my problems! I've dreamed of this day!

Coincidentally, I just finished the first chapter of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Posted by on Feb-07-2014 01:54:

Highly effective people don't waste their time reading self help books

Posted by OrangestO on Feb-07-2014 02:22:

That's something someone who's highly ineffective would say.

Granted, most are gimmicky. But some are worth the read if you proactively apply some of the lessons.

Either way, reading a book and gaining an insight from it isn't a waste of time.

IT'S ALL UP TO YOU!

The best option I've found is militarization.

Meaning...discipline and time management ... For anything that you do. Get up early, go to bed at the same time .... Nothing's out of reach.

He got kicked out of the military so my guess is he might not want to "militarize". Besides not everyone can be effective and that's ok.

What does discipline and time management have to do with the military numb nuts?

I left the military for greater reasons than not wanting to get up at 5 A.M. to run in the mountains and do pushups.

The whole "go to the military to learn discipline" is overrated anyways, unless you really are out of wack before you even enlist. My father was a solider in Poland/a Navy Seal in the U.S. That's more discipline than you'd know how to handle in your childhood, junior.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Feb-07-2014 14:27:

You just used a grade 5 kids framing device for an insult. Check yourself. My dad was a 4 star general in the Irish Air Force.

And you just used a grade 5 kid's punctuation for an insult. I'm sure he's proud of having a fruit for a son.

Langaroana made the military suggestion not me.

I'll have you know my father was an Admiral in the Swiss navy!

My Father was a Navajo war hammer thrower, Second in command of his tribe, aka dances with white ladies, aka the titty scooper, husband to titty shamwow. Died by a smallpox outbreak that we believed was put into a condom that was given to him by a white man. I believe to be successful in this world you need more than discipline, its dependent on how in tune you are with the spirit world.
