Hello! Whatever Happened to: Judge Jules

Last year I was loving Judge Jules sets. Maybe I'm living in a bubble here on the musically challenged east coast, but where did he go? I haven't heard a peep about him. It's as if he's disappeared. Did he change his name or something? What the hell. His non-M.O.S. sets where really good.

Posted by Technaut on Oct-06-2002 15:08:

hes still playing on Radio one each week and in clubs in the UK

Posted by PolishPsycho on Oct-06-2002 15:11:

I cannot find a single current liveset from him online. Any ideas where I can look? Is he playing good and hard or did he crap out like some of the other last years favorites who shall go unnamed?

cough, cough, tiesto, cough.....

Wondered how long it would take for someone to do sommit like that

Posted by Excite on Oct-06-2002 16:12:

he's become just another jaded big-name DJ who doesn't care to please the crowd. you won't hear many of his recorded livesets because his management agency doesn't allow his sets to be recorded.

Posted by PolishPsycho on Oct-06-2002 16:18:

Ahhh nuts, looks like he sucked out. Oh well, I'll move on!!!

No he hasnt, far from it, if anything he is near top form again. Seen him many times this yeah, and atm he is spinning really well.

I imagine the people who said he sucked havent even seen him this year

This thread proves my point about the sheep factor on this forum

i saw him here in Dallas last April and he sucked it up big time. I also got to meet his brother Sam and got Jules O'Riordan's personal e-mail address.

Posted by Spad on Oct-06-2002 17:50:

Ever since the end of last year he's been shit, but I've heard he's been back on form in the last couple of months. I don't really think much of his Radio 1 show though....

As Fly said, now the Ibiza season is over he'll be doing more gigs elsewhere in the world.

Excite: His managment agency don't allow his sets to be recorded? I don't know any agency that would give permission But sets are still broadcast on radio shows and they can't stop anybody pressing 'record' can they?

Posted by djSlain on Oct-06-2002 17:53:

he's coming this halloween to Monster Massive (as the headliner) on the west coast.

Posted by PolishPsycho on Oct-06-2002 18:10:

I'm searching for his newer sets online. I'm just hoping to find something new to convince me against those who don't like him. I'm gonna check out his show though.

Last April well that was about the end of his down spell, since then he has improved a hell of a lot.

Saw him at godskitchen a few weeks back, and the set was well constructed from uplifting trance to hard trance to the techno end of his style. And mixing was spot on. The crowd seemed to love it

Oh sam, as in the person who runs serious?

Yeah met jules funnily enough a few weeks back on my journey back from ibiza on the flight, had a long chat with him.

Sound guy

Agreed about Jules - he's back on his game. I expected a mish-mash of hard banging rubbish on Saturday in Melbourne, but was pleasantly surprised with a fairly well crafted set. Started with an some techno (an Umek track), and built his set nicely, with peaks at about 45 mins (Rank 1 - Awakening), 90 mins and 120 mins, with Ligaya. Set up the crowd PERFECTLY for Armin, who then played one of his best sets ever (and not just cos I was there and fucked; I've got soooo many of his livesets and this topped almost all of them). So Jules kinda faded into the shadows a bit, but I really enjoyed his set. If that was shit, then I don't know anything about trance.
