RnB song with "complex drum programming"?

I remember reading some article about EDM saying this song had "probably the most complex/interesting drum programming of any pop song" or something like that. So yes, it had a pretty cool IDM'ish beat that went like "kick-kick-kickkickkickkickkickkickkickkickkickkickkick", like fast raindrops or smth. It didn't sound like speedcore or drumroll, lol no, just fast drum backbeat (and it was a synthesized beat, not sampled). The tempo was around 80-90 bpm, and it didn't sound like rap or "dancefloor rocking" RnB. I have no idea what it was about, just remember it having female vocal and sounding similar to Melanie C - Never be the same again (no, it's not this song neither a remix of it, it was original). That's all I remember unfortunately ;((
