http://www.korg.com/us/news/2014/0217/
hmmmm, think ill hold off on the Sub37 until i see how this pans out
little pahty pwns this
Holy shit.
I'm just waiting for them to announce that it'll be released on April 1.
It's like when they made a game with Sonic AND Mario in it!
alright guys whats so good about it.
Sweet! Hope they also develop a remake of the 2600.
all i know is that one of my favourite Trilian patches uses the Odyssey as its main sample - i have the Boomstar 4075 already (based on the ARP 2600 filter) but im thinking this might be what i was after all along
Wonder how it will sound eventually? I thought most of the components used to make these old synths were obsolete, although that didnt stop them remaking the MS20

The parts thing is a bit of a non issue; sure they'd like the original components but there's more than enough workarounds for it not to be a problem. It's not like they are trying to exactly build a 1970's synth all with legacy parts - it's going to be a new take analogue on the old synth. Moog have had no production problems in terms of sourcing parts and to be honest most of the components are pretty standard. You'll find super high end hifi/audiophile systems use much rarer components yet they still churn them out.
Korg, with all of the their resources can either source or even make the parts needed.
I bet you anything they'll charge a ridiculous 4-digit sum for this.
