Best way to render from wav to mp3
Hello again, my beloved members, I missed you I have to admit
Well it's time for me to render my track. I want to render it in wav first but what is the best plugin available to convert it into mp3 afterwards? I think the quality of an audio file converted directly into mp3 in FL Studio is not good. What can you recommend?
FL users: How do you render your tracks?
I always just use iTunes to do the conversion from WAV > MP3 or AAC as I can then edit all the information tags easily in the same app and add artwork.
Just use 320kbps, joint stereo and you'll be fine. If you are going to use the audio for a video project (eg YouTube) then best to use 48KHz sampling rate instead of 44.1KHz.
LAME.

I render everything at 16-bit wav now since some of the sites I distribute on can't handle 24-bit. As for conversion from wav-mp3, I just use Wavepad and save the file as a 320kbps mp3.
i render my shit to wav then mp3 so i have both files
I've been using razorlame 1.1.4beta with lame for many years now.

Its def not lame to use lame.
I use Lame as well, from WAV. WAV is rendered as the highest quality anything it's being created from (24/16).
I sometimes like the compression artifacts at 192, but 320 would be the minimum you should submit a demo I'm sure.

Except studies show people tend to prefer mp3s . Studies done over a few times on many size systems. Personally it think it adds a character that the young ins have grown accustomed to.v

| Originally posted by clay if your plan is to send out mp3 i would rather render my tracks in 16bit 44,1kHz instead of 24bit 96kHz because some mp3-decoders fuck up the bit depth transition especially, from 24 to 16, as well as the sample rate. my last release on a label was completely destroyed due to me sending the label a 24bit wav; just listen here: fucked up decoding: http://www.play.fm/shop/track/id/6764216 correct version (re-released by myself): http://www.junodownload.com/product...2-02/?trackid=4 this has happened with many artists i know when supplying 24bit version wavs to labels. just dont do it. industri standard is not 320kbps mp3. its 16bit 44,1kHz wav. no dj should use any less. 192kbps sounds terrible, 320 works on iphone and docking stations, but a proper stereo or even worse on a PA club system. |
I send in all my work 24bit, dont think i've ever had problems outside of not that good mastering done hehe.
I can't understand why any DJ would use anything less than wav.
On large systems, even 192 mp3's can sound really bad and although the difference between 320 and wav will go unnoticed by most people, storage space and bandwidth have become so abundant that there's just no need to use mp3's anymore.
My phone's built in memory (before I start adding HDMC cards) let's me store 53 full CD spec albums. That's 60 hours, or 2.5 days of continuous audio.
If Dj's get real, and understand they don't need a 50,000 song library to play a 2 hour set of niche music (it's not like they're mobile wedding DJ's and even then, they all play the same 200 songs anyway).
wav or flac really should be the only standard these days.
Thats nutting, you know what I just figured out, the only the best and maximum quality for ripping a wav to mp3 is buy purchasing both files at beatport. They know best bro.
