Food for thought

What's your favorite snack food?

I was looking for something healthy and picked up some Larabars at the supermarket. The blueberry is outstanding.

Fruits, nuts and potato chips.

nuts, particularly almonds. I started soaking my almonds in water overnight and then I peel them before eating. Fucking amazing.

That's a very North African thing. After peeling them, we usually roast them on a pan or in the oven with some salt and add them to various Tagines. Or you can eat them on their own, delicious. =)

Cereal. My go-to snack is cereal with some milk.

Or those almond bars.

Speaking of Wasabi-flavored snacks, these are excellent.

Almonds, apples, dry-roast soy beans.

Speaking of soaking my nuts, can't remember the last time I've taken a bath.

Apparently doing this helps your body absorb more nutrients from the almonds, which is why I first tried it, but then realized I also enjoy them more this way.

Hummus is awesome.

Fruit, veggies + dip, cheese and crackers. I mean, I actually LOVE junk food - chips and chocolate, etc etc...but obviously it's terrible and makes me feel like shit, so I limit junk days to when I'm hungover, lol.

Like today, for example. I ate a whole bag of sour cream and bacon Ruffles, and a salted caramel Hagen Daaz ice cream bar.

Walnuts, concord grapes, blueberries, yellow apples, pears and kiwis just to name a few. Keeps the stomach in check with plenty of antioxidants to boost my health.

Ever had sable grapes? So goddamn good! My fave.

Posted by Dj Skez on Apr-02-2014 00:40:

Sable grapes are really good actually, I'm lucky we have a nice farmer's market here in Yonkers, it's only a few blocks away from my house and they all know my name like the show cheers, they make me feel special I'm also a sucker for sweet Euro plums, cherries, green cantaloupe, and probably my all time favorite is Figs, cannot stop eating those.
