Hi all,

Actually, some time ago you could buy these beauties at "Hard to find records" for not too much money. But they haven't got them in stock anymore

Greetings,

This has nothing to do with the topic but I love that site.

As for the decks, they are nice but mechanically no different that regular Techs you buy in any music shop, I would assume

Posted by mikefasssy on Oct-11-2002 18:05:

I have another picture at home but I am at school atm so..

And they dont cost that much because its just gold plating, not solid gold :P And they were only limited edition, at least thats what I was told.

No, the DMC champion ones don't shine. They are more matte finish (together with the gold Technics mixer).

Posted by groove department on Oct-11-2002 22:07:

that are the normal sl 1210 ltd with the turntabletop chrome.

Posted by Dj Thy on Oct-12-2002 15:58:

Well actually, when taking a closer look at the pic, I see it's just the regular SL1200 LTD, with no extra cover whatsoever. It's just the default "piano-black" finish of the LTD.

The LTD came out a long time ago. It was the first 1200 to have a quartz reset button. Later they just used the same option on the m3D.

If you wanna see a real "pimp" finish take a look at this

It's the one of the dutch Pioneer representative. It's not a separate cover, he just stripped the TT apart and used that special granite texture paint...

Posted by mantisnl on Oct-12-2002 18:06:

no offence, but i don`t like that one @ all

Posted by webbie on Oct-12-2002 18:25:

Would be cool to have one with transparent cover.

Same here... Oh well, taste differs from people to people, that on just ain't in my taste

Posted by mantisnl on Oct-12-2002 18:34:

hmm i`m thinking of painting mine also.. i think it`ll look very cool, ur "custom" ttz

Posted by groove department on Oct-12-2002 21:22:

no, it is a cover. you can see it at the pitch adjust. its lower then the cover. the ltd-logo is only putted on it.

Posted by Dj Thy on Oct-13-2002 10:49:

The real LTD has that indented pitch also, I've always found that an esthetic flaw on the LTD's. But you may be right. You can't really judge it by the pic though.

Posted by groove department on Oct-13-2002 11:44:

you may be right. but how the hell could you put this terrible looking needle on this nobly tt??

Posted by groove department on Oct-13-2002 11:46:

hmm, i looked at the pic for a second time. and now i think it is the normal ltd. isn't it possible, that it is the normal black ltd. this one has this special color. it could also be black.

Posted by Dj Thy on Oct-13-2002 14:42:

The LTD normal has a black laqu finish, called piano black. But it's very difficult to see on this pic if the real color is black, because you only see reflections.

About the needle, I guess they didn't have the money anymore to install it with the Ortofon Gold (it was made for this TT). Oh well, it's still an Ortofon model (it's a Tonar Banana, but Ortofon makes it in fact).

Posted by groove department on Oct-13-2002 15:05:

yes, i think it is the piano black. its difficult, but it could that color be.

i know the needle, bit i hate this one. a normal nightclub would be better and not that stupid ones
