The Chemical Brothers Sounds..

Any idea of how these basses are made?

The midrange one from the beginning and the actual bass coming at 0:20?

Kind of an esoteric question (i.e. are you asking the forbidden question of which synth makes this sound?), but I remember form the time if it's release, Der Bruder Chemikalie had been saying how this was the type of music they made when they first started out, and that they had gone back to a lot of those old samplers and equipment to recreate the old sounds. I was less house/bigbeat, and more electro (not that electro, I mean the real electro from the 80's) and detroit techno.

The mid range sample sounds a bit like a processed Roland JV slap bass sound (maybe from a 1080?) but the bass could be from anywhere?

These are not typical sounds you'd hear on a daily basis, so they kinda strike me. I was just curious if it was possible to recreate them with the arsenal of a regular noob as me. I mean, there has to be a way, but does anybody here have the knowledge to?

The higher bass is some sort of FM sound for sure.

The low one could be almost anything, but run through a dirty filter.
