should i do this?

my sister works at a toystore (bartsmit), and they offer her an one time employes only offer: an xbox + 2 games (she didn't remember if you could pick them out yourself) for 150 euro. (normally an xbox + 2 games in the store will cost ya about 400 euro)

my question is, should i do that ?, ever since i sold my n64 i haven't really kept up with all the new devellopments in the game industry. I heard all kinds of story's about:
- that the xbox friezes alot,
- that a ps2 is better,
- that a gamecube sux,
- that they don't make good games for the xbox,
- that if you get your xbox fixed to play copied cd's on, you can't watch dvd's
- that you have to buy an extra hardware device to watch dvd's

But which is true? personally i always wanted to buy a ps2 because it just seemed cooler, but if i could get an xbox for that money .... and if i could pick out my own games, which ones should i take?

btw, Is it possible to play illegal copied games on an xbox, cause some say it is, others say it isn't?

please help me out!

- that a gamecube sux, FALSE
- that they don't make good games for the xbox, FALSE (although Halo is all the system has going for it IMO)

- that you have to buy an extra hardware device to watch dvd's TRUE

I personally would go for the PS2, due to the amount of good games available and the quality of gameplay you get with them. Sure XBox looks good, but the majority of the games for it lack gameplay.

but would you also go for a ps2 if you could get an xbox + 2 games for 150 euro , while a ps2 will cost you about 250 without games, and memory card?

i could buy the xbox, and then place an ad in the paper if someone wants to swap with me for ps2 (we have special papers for that in holland, called the particulier)

why not just sell it afterward and use the money toward a ps2?
