Question Oberheim OB12... any opinions?

I played a little with an OB12 yesterday. It's very different compared to for example the Nord Lead 2 that i also tried, it can make very fat pads and strings loved it!
Any opinions on the OB12 compared to other, more expensive VA's ?

The price is one of it's biggest pro's.. it's a very powerfull synth and with os 1.5 most of the bugs are gone and the price is even lower which makes a real bargain. I don't own one but I tried one and it has some really rich pads and leads. But don't buy it as a first synth as it has not much polyphony.

I know it's ages since this was even commented on. But it's wicked. I'm in a "space-rock / alternative" band (well eventually) and it's wicked. I found one for 500 brand new. Another rock group I know use one Corporation:Blend.

Andy is the synth man, here he is... MAN WITH BEAST:

If you want an idea of how it sounds, click here / right click & save as: "The Shutdown" (It's the first tune you hear if you're puzzled!)

And yes rock rules (for me), but I'm 100% eclectic! - Trance rules too.

Seems like he "forgot" to plug all cables in except the power cable , at least it is one cable more than PUSH "live"

Ha, I saw Y.O.M.C live a while back. Looking over my photos, I noticed there were no midi cables coming out of his keyboard.

attacc -> I take it you're being sarcastic!

DeZmA -> I've seen them live twice, and that is the only cord he has going in / out. I think it's different for a "band"... they jsut play live. Most if not all Trance / Dance / House etc. music is done via Software rather than just "raw". Either way they're wicked live.

I don't know how you lot on here stand on alternative music.... but i love it, and i really do like this band.

Que the slaters:
